I love the wonderful smells that drift through the home during the Christmas season. The kitchen has always been a favorite gathering place for my family and the holidays are no exception to this. My youngest son still looks forward to making the Christmas cookies. His favorites are the sugar cookies we roll out and cut in different shapes.

We have a Christmas Eve family tradition in our home of gathering around the kitchen table and celebrating with a birthday cake for Jesus. I found this to be a wonderful way to teach my sons the reason for Christmas.

I'd like to share just a couple of my favorite holiday dessert recipes with you and of course, being from the South, there has to be a pecan pie and a sweet potato pie in there somewhere. I do hope y'all will enjoy them as much as we do.
