Rocke & Roll
G'day, everybody! I thought that perhaps it was about time I told you something about myself - y'know, just in case anyone wants to know what sort of nut is running this shop. This page could end up long and crazy, with a whole lot of graphics whacked in on the side, so if you're easily bored by this sort of rubbish, go back to the site. *sighs dramatically* Okay, roll out the questions and we'll get this over with.
Name: Rocke&Roll. Duh.
Favourite
anime: Digimon
Adventure, Digimon Tamers, Card Captor Sakura, Evangelion and the list goes
on...
Favourite digimon character: Biyomon!
Seriously.
Okay, Taichi. And Ryo. I like drawing his hair.
Aren't you
forgetting somebody?
...no...
You're blushing. I am not!
Come on, out
with it!
I'm
never going to live this down...
Who's your
favourite digi-guy?
Okay, okay, I admit it, it's.... Yamato
What's so bad about that? Never mind
You have any muses? Whiskers. She's a lioness with wings. Plus Kaz-chan and ::dragonfire:: if real people can be counted as muses.
Idols?
Elizabeth Honey, my
godmother Sue-in-America, the Masters Apprentices, Russel Morris, AC/DC, Billy
Thorpe and the Aztecs, Rose Tattoo, Led Zeppelin, that guy who wrote Classical
Gas and basically anyone
whose ever played a tune on guitar.
You have a thing for guitar, huh? I'd keep one in my pocket if I could. I love my guitar. If it were alive I'd marry it, but at present I just have to be content with playing Beatles tunes.
... okay... what annoys you? Bashers, flamers, the digimon couple wars, Vegeta (from DBZ), being called boring or narrow-minded. Not to mention fluff and pathos.
That was a
long list. Oh yeah,
and I forgot to mention stats pages with lots of questions on.
Is that a threat? *pulls out frying pan and knocks invisible interviewer unconscious* YES!
Right, now for some things
that you might actually care about. I'm an Australian teenage hippie who
acts surprisingly like Sora Takenouchi. I've been playing guitar for
several years now and it's one of my most treasured possessions. I got
into anime early last year because of a few things: partly because I'd started
watching Digimon, partly because I started learning Japanese and partly because
I met one of the most wonderful human beings on the whole darn planet, who I
will simply refer to as Kaz-chan. You might notice that around the site I
disagree with her a lot, but I really do love her to bits.
Anyway, she introduced me to the haven that is the anipike and some of the cooler things about Digimon Adventure. Then I met Steffi-chan from school, who also liked digimon, and Kaz's friend Sunny, and things just kept going and going and going. Now I'm addicted to anime and manga and I wouldn't give it up for anything.
As for the digimon fandom
itself... well, if you've read any rants you'll notice that there are a lot of
things I'm not too happy about right now. Sora-bashing is obviously my
biggest issue, but I'm sick to death of the bloody couple wars as well.
I'm an anyshipper, okay? I like 'em all. For example:
Absolute favourite couples:
Taiora,
Sorato, Taito (in case you hadn't guessed)
'Hobby' couples: Taishiro, Taijun, Mira, TakeDaiKen
Stuff I don't care much about either way:
almost everything else
Stuff I can't stand:
Jun x Sora, because most supporters of it are just Taitoists trying to get rid
of them. And Daisuke x Iori, because I think it's stupid.
Mind you, it took me a while to sort all this out. Without the help of ::dragonfire:: I would never have brought my love of Sorato out into the open, but I'm glad I did. I think. *shoots a wary look at Kaz*
But we really should put these things in the past. What happened, happened, so let's like what we like and not kill people who disagree with us. Let's not talk about world politics on anime sites because Americans might not like us any more (most Australians are decidedly anti-Bush... but we won't go there).
Now, about these friends of mine...
Sunny Aino has a lot of online names, but Sunny is the one her ff.net profile is under so that's what I'm calling her here. She's not too keen on yaoi or yuri, especially not just for the sake of being slashy. Just for couples that work. She's a Taiora supporter, mostly, but can stand Sorato and no longer disputes what happened in the epilogue because the kids are just so darn cute. We talk a lot about politics and current affairs and serious stuff like that. She used to have a website but Topcities recently deleted it so nobody can visit it any more.
Steffi-chan is my friend from school, who loves her anime as much as the next otaku. She doesn't write fanfiction and she doesn't maintain a website, so you're unlikely to meet her in too many places, but I do mention her because it's hard not too.
::dragonfire:: is a girl I
met through ff.net when I published my first work, the mega-fic To Be Death's
Master. ::df:: was one of the first people to find the fic and has
followed its progress ever since. She and I have never met up, although we
did attempt to when I was out her way once. But normally the fact that
we're practically on opposite ends of the planet makes that kinda thing pretty
difficult.
::dragonfire::
has her own website, ::fruit basket:: which is also my sister site! It has
tangerine, a shrine to
Digimon Adventure 01, kumquat,
a Sorato shrine, guava,
a Daikari shrine which has passed 1000 hits, and there will soon be a triangles
shrine called tropical punch.
Kaz-chan goes by about a
zillion other names, but I just call her Kaz-chan because... um... that's the
one I like the most, I suppose. She's nuts about bishounen, particularly
Yamato and Taichi. Kaz loves Taito and Taiora, but anyone who says Sorato
in her presence is doomed to a horrible death... in which case it's a wonder I'm
still alive. She writes fanfics now and again, usually with a theme we
used to call the Awesome Foursome - Taichi, Yamato, Takeru and Hikari.
Usually with Taito and Takari. Although sometimes Yamato dies and there's
Sorato instead. You can find her on ff.net under PrincessSwifty.
Kaz and I don't always get along too well, and not just because we're always at
different ends of the fandom (she hates Sora - need I say more?). Right
now, in fact, she doesn't want me as a friend any more. But on the
off-chance that she happens to visit, I just want to say a few things that she
probably already knows.
She changed my life. She showed me the world of anime, she helped me meet
new people and she opened my mind. She affected me in a way that no other
single person has before. And although it seems like an aeon ago, I've
been closer to her than I've ever been to anyone else.
I have no right to criticise you or anything you do, Kaz. I'm sorry if
I've ever hurt you or offended you. I know I can't make you like me, but
if you ever just want to talk... well, I'm here. I always will be.
Okay, well, if you're not Kaz that was all totally meaningless. Yay! Well, thank you for reading to the end, anyone who bothered. Hell, if you bothered coming to this page you're a weird one. Well, I've had my babble. Go read something sensible now!
