MISAN-LYCANTHROPY
In the office
(gruff and grumble)
Larry works and frets;
snapping at the secretaries,
hedging all his belts.
No higher up will catch HIM napping!
No siree! No m'am!
Dot those i's and cross those t's...
(C.Y.A.-A.S.A.P.)
cross those t's and dot those i's...
(and pull the wings off helpless flies)
They say to climb the corporate ladder,
who you hurt below don't matter.
pressure, stress, the jungle life,
gain an ulcer, lose a wife...
But when the night has fallen and caressing moonlight shines
       intoxication comes a-calling
                  sweeter than the finest wines
Sinew stretches, muscle moans in defiance of Their laws
pain is pleasure to his bones
flesh is fur and nails are claws
Eyes that glow with crimson light see the world as pulsing life
senses stretch to feel the night
                  keener than the sharpest knife
Fleeing nothing, fearing none, laughter at the shadows prancing
         freedom tempts a joyous run
sends the blood and senses dancing
At his apartment
(swear and sputter)
Larry does disdain
'social life' and all it's clutter.
"People are in pain!"
Dating -mating- leads to hating -
Of THIS fact he is sure.
Lonely days and T.V. shows...
(private dreams that no one knows)
T.V. shows and lonely days...
(existance in an endless haze)
Junk mail, phone sex, grim reflections.
Involvement leads to swift defections.
He doesn't have the knack of sharing:
he'll live and die with no one caring.

But when the darkness sings to him and moonlight shows the way
he sheds the trap of human skin
                   a tiny price to pay
for freedom of the finest kind. The liberation of his soul
         emancipation of his mind
                     change that makes him whole
What wonders does he revel in, this wolf-kin that was man
         what wonderous magic does begin
when we just know it can
Beyond the Veil the magic lies
Beyond the tears the lone one cries
Beyond the blindness of our eyes
               The Magic waits...
