I lived in Taiwan 1969-1972, teaching English at Wesley Girls' Middle School (3 blocks from National Palace Museum). Had a great time. It was Taiwan when it was still primarily agrarian. Totally different (and yet lots the same). Wish I was there now.

I have been to Taiwan twice, once staying there for little over a year. Although I didn't like Taipei too much, I loved the rest of the island and look forward to traveling back there again.

Taipei is my favorite city because there's so much to do and there are spectacular mountains within easy reach. Great for mountain biking or motorcycling! I hope you're enjoying the unseasonably hot weather!
