The Skies over The Ruhr, Germany, 1944

Russell Keys is Captain of a bomber in the heat of battle, when strange blue lights appear from behind a shot German Fighter. Russell is shot through the fuselage of the plane, and the craft is going down.

Bement Illinois, 1945

Russell Keys is welcomed home by friends and family, and meets Kate Walker at the bank.

The 509th Bomb Division, July 7, 1947

Captain Owen Crawford is briefing his men on the importance of secrets: "Knowing theirs and keeping theirs". He is briefed on strange sightings around Seattle and The Great Lakes Region. He asks his Colonel's Daughter, Ann out on a date. While he's walking to go out with his date, he bumps into an old flame, Sue. She asks him out, and he politely refuses.

Sue is driving alone on a New Mexico country road and her car dies. She gets out to check on it, and a UFO flies low overhead and crashes. When the craft hits, the blast is strong enough to blow the hood off her car. After the disturbance, her car fires back up. She walks over the hill to analyze the situation, picking up an artifact. When she's not looking, an alien runs by the screen. When she's walking back to the car, the camera focuses on an alien in the tree.

Pine Lodge New Mexico, July 7, 1947

A man and his two sons crest a hill, when the dad utters this:

"You know you're ready when you know your ground, when nothing can surprise you... OH MY GOD!!!"

Meanwhile, Captain Crawford insists on covering up the spy balloon that crashed (Project Mogul) with UFO stories.

Bement Illinois, July 7, 1947

Russell has flashbacks to "Medical Experiments" performed on him, and shares them with his wife.

We learn that he lived through the crash over Germany, and that he woke up three days later in a field in France.

He comments that he feels like it's still happening.

He has a dream that Nazi stormtroopers have come to get him, and wakes to discover three strange bruises on his arm. The next day he boards up the windows to his house.

Roswell New Mexico, July 8, 1947

Captain Crawford notes that the craft the man and two boys brought him to had "5 seats and only 4 bodies".

Lubbock Texas, July 8, 1944

A lonely chain-smoking waitress, Sally Crawford is sent home early from the diner where she works. Her husband goes away for a three week business trip.

On a stormy windy night, Sally goes out to discover a stranger in her barn. She brings this stranger into her home.

In the morning, Sally brings the stranger some breakfast. The stranger notes that Sally's husband doesn't appreciate her kindness, and notes Sally's sadness.

Fort Worth Army Air Field, July 9, 1947

The Infamous Roswell Weather Balloon report and Subsequent Cover-up

Wright Field Power Plant, Dayton Ohio, July 9, 1947

Researchers are analyzing the cells of one of the dead aliens - They can become animal or plant, become anything they want.

The Colonel and research doctors are pulled in to see Dr. Golden reciting Hebrew. We see an alien being crawling down the opposite wall, and then right in your face!

Bement Illinois, July 9, 1947

Russell wakes in the middle of the night. He gets out a list of all the men in his bomber crew and checks up on all of them. He discovers that 8 of the 9 others in his crew are dead, and his co-pilot is in the hospital, not expected to recover.

He has to find out what happened: NOW.

509th Bomber Division, July 9, 1947

Ann and Owen go out horseback riding and Owen asserts that Ann is "The Sun and The Moon" to him.

They, uhh, get it on.

Back at the farm, Owen Proposes to Ann, and she accepts.

Greene County Ohio, July 10, 1947

Dr. Golden has to see the creature again, since he feels the creature can put him in contact with his father. Doing so sets off alarms

Several other researchers respond to the alarm, only to find Dr. Golden and the creature both dead. Dr. Golden's nose has been bleeding profusely.

Later, the police pull over one of the researchers in the rain, and Owen Crawford gets out of the car, discussing Dr. Golden's experience.

Lubbock Texas, July 10, 1947

John performs magic tricks for Becky and Tome Clarke (Sally's Children) and they discuss John's home and past over dinner. John is reluctant to answer.

Army Hospital, Fort Bliss Texas, July 10, 1947

Russell visits a friend in the hospital, where the friend jogs Russell's Memory:

"They put the machine gun down where you could reach it, as if they didn't know how a machine gun worked, loaded with a full clip and all."

"Russell, it wasn't Germans you killed that day" - With that, Russell has a new combonation of flashbacks where the Germans are replaced with Alien Beings.

509th Bomber Division, July 10, 1947

Captain Crawford convinces two subordinates to give him any and all information they have, and to begin searching for the creature. They search west Texas.

Lubbock Texas, July 10, 1947

The children are away at school, and the two subordinates enter the room, announcing that they are searching for a stranger. He's a deserter who needs to return to base.

John is complementing Sally, and they go into a barn, and uhh do it.

Tom and Becky snoop through John's room, to discover a comic book with a picture of a "space man" who looks exactly like John.

John discovers them and confronts Tom:

"My work here is almost done, I won't let you interfere."

The kids ride their bikes at a fever pitch trying to find the Sherrif and Army officers to pick up John.

Sally gives John an earring and John disappears in a bright light as the Sherriff's car dies.

El Paso, Texas, July 12, 1947

Russell has nightmare flashbacks about Aliens. It's obvious the man is having problems since he takes a swig of whiskey.

Roswell Army Air Force Base, July 17, 1947

Sue has been at the base every day for the last two weeks trying to talk to Captain Crawford. She has the artifact from the crash site.

Captain Crawford is relieved that she brought him the artifact, tells her she means "The Sun and The Moon to him" and they uhh, get it on.

When she goes home, she's surprised to find Captain Crawford at her trailer. He beats her to death.

Crawford Wedding Reception, September 13, 1947

Captain Crawford goes to his Colonel, who also happens to be his new Father-In-Law, and wants to be part of the project, and promoted to Major. Colonel refuses, and Crawford produces the artifact, and threatens to go public.

He gets what he wants.
