| Chapter Three |
| "Okay, here we are," Aurora said when she pulled into the parking lot of the park that she always came to. "Are you sure you want to get out?" Mark asked, "It's raining." "That's very observant of you," she laughed, "I love rain," she said getting out of the car. Mark slowly did the same, "Rains okay." "Okay? That's it? Come on! Rain is so relaxing. Follow me." She dragged him along until they came to an area where there were Tiger Lilies, irises, and other rare flowers. There was a pond with Lily pads too. "I love this place, it's so peaceful. It's nice to be able to relax after a long day of work," she smiled, "I'm sure you know what I mean." Mark laughed, "I know exactly what you mean." "Yeah, probably more so," she said. "Yeah," he was silent for a moment, "You really took care of yourself back at the club." "You mean Chris? That wuss?" "I guess you know him from somewhere?" Mark asked. "Yeah, can you believe I dated that asshole? Sometimes I find it hard to believe myself." "Hey, we all make mistakes," he answered. "You're telling me!" she laughed. By now the two of them were soaking wet, "He is so sexy" she thought. He smiled at her, "I know what you mean." "You look a little cold. Come on!" she pulled him into gazeebo that was near by and out of the rain, "So why don't you tell me a bit about yourself?" "Well, I like motorcycles, I listen to Black Sabath. I was born March 24, 1962 in Houston, Texas. Is there anyting else you'd like to know?" "No, that's fine," she laughed. "Why don't you tell me about yourself?" "Well, I also like motorcycles although I know nothing about them. I listen to anything when it comes to music. Anywhere from the Backstreet Boys to Limp Bizkit. I was born April 16, 1972 in Toronto, Ontario. Is there anything else that YOU would like to know?" He laughed, "That's fine." Aurora smiled. No guy had ever made her laugh so much before. "So, do you wanna go to my house. We could watch a movie or something." "Oh great, make yourself sound like a major slut!" "That would be great!" he smiled. "How about I show you around?" Aurora suggested when they walked in. She showed him around the first floor, "Well, that's all that's down here, so let's go upstairs." "Come on Mark. Get a conversation going. Anything to talk about. ANYTHING!" he thought. "Here's the guest room," she said opening the door, "See the lovely bed and dresser. It makes this room perfect to stay in," she smiled at Mark. "Good for a few other things too. Wait! Aurora, stop thinking that way!" "Okay, this is Alyss'a room but you can't see in there cause it's top secret." "And what's so top secret about it," Mark asked. "It's top secret so I obviously don't know," Aurora laughed, "Anyway, this is my room," she opened the door and walked in. Mark, being the perfect gentleman, followed. Aurora turned to face him, "So, what do you think?" "It's a real nice house," "Yeah, that's why we bought it," she blushed. They both looked at the ground awkwardly. Mark was the first one to look up. He took her face in his hand and smiled, "You are very beautiful." She just smiled, mesmerized by his eyes. There was a look of longing in them. As if he had been missing something and now that he had found it he wanted it. Mark leaned his face closer to hers and her lips trembled when they touched his. Aurora started to slowly unbutton his shirt and ran the tips of her fingers along the hard muscles of his chest. She pulled his shirt over his shoulders and kissed him again, harder this time. He pulled her shirt over her head and ran his hands down her back slowly pulling off her bra. Aurora, realizing what she was doing, pulled away. "Are you okay?" Mark asked. "Yeah, I'm just not ready for this," she told him. She remembered Chris and all that he had done to her. She didn't want to go through that again, she had to make sure that she never went through that again. She plopped down on her bed, so deep into her own thoughts she almost forgot Mark was there. "That's fine," he said sitting down beside her. Aurora rested her head on his shoulder. He didn't act at all like Chris, but then again, Chris didn't act like Chris when she had first known him. But she got a different feeling from Mark. "You look tired. Do you want me to leave so you can get some sleep?" "NO!!" she exclaimed, "I don't feel comfortable staying home alone after the thing at the club." "and why do I feel comfortable with a complete stranger?" "Okay, that's fine." So there they lay, Aurora cuddling with Mark, both of them to their own thoughts. |
