When You Wish Upon a Star

"Twinkle, twinkle little star, how I wonder what you are." Kari sang as she stared into the night sky of the Digiworld. "Up above the world so high. Like a diamond in the sky..."

"Twinkle, Twinkle little star, how I wonder what you are." Sang T.K from behind her. Kari spun around to see him, and when she did, she smiled. T.K. walked up to her and stood next to her, staring at the same star she was moments ago. He looked down from the star and at Kari. "You sing real pretty." Kari couldn?t help herself but to blush.

"Thanks. You sing pretty too." She replied. T.K. too blushed and thanked Kari for her kind remark. Kari sat down and ran her fingers through the soft grass. T.K. sat down next to her and watched her stroke the grass. T.K. looked out across the horizon and began to wonder like a seven year-old wonders. He was just beginning to understand the concept of love and what it meant. He was growing up, and liked it. He wouldn?t have to hold his Mother?s hand when he crossed the street, or depend on his older brother Matt for everything. But growing older also meant new responsibilities. He, like his brother, would probably have a girlfriend to take care of. T.K. glanced to Kari with this thought and blushed an even deeper shade of crimson and smiled happily. He looked back up into the sky and continued his train of thought. He found himself staring at a particular star and looked away from it, only to find he couldn?t think. T.K. looked back up and at his star, now able to think freely. T.K. dubbed this star, his "Thinking Star" and could only think about certain things when he stared at it.

"Star light, Star bright, the brightest star I see tonight." T.K. Heard Kari whisper to her star. "Wish I may, wish I might, have this wish I wish tonight." Kari closed her eyes and whispered something even he couldn?t hear. He glanced up at his star again and repeated Kari?s star poem in a whisper.

"Star light, star bright, the brightest star I see tonight. Wish I may, wish I might, have this wish I wish tonight." He too closed his eyes and wished in a quieter tone. "Please let Kari like me the way I like her." With that his eyes flew open and fixed on Kari, who was staring at him, smiling. T.K. blushed and scooted closer to her. Kari also scooted closer to T.K. When they were almost sitting on each other, T.K. placed his hand on hers and placed a small kiss on her cheek. She blushed and put a kiss on his lips. T.K?s eyes went wide and he felt his cheeks grow hot. Kari giggled and put her other hand on his red cheek.

"Looks like my wish came true." She whispered. T.K. smiled and kissed her again on her cheek.

"So did mine." She smiled and sat on his lap. The two yawned and Kari leaned on him and fell asleep. T.K. put his left arm around her and fell asleep.

The next morning, Matt and Tai walked to the spot where T.K. and Kari sit asleep. Matt looked down on them and smiled, as did Tai.

"Think we should wake them?" Asked Matt. Tai simply shook his head and looked at Matt.

"Nah, Lovebirds deserve to sleep late." Tai and Matt chuckled and walked back to the camp site where the other Digidestined sat, waiting for the return of Kari and T.K.

"Well, Where are they?" Mimi asked, adjusting the large pink Cowboy hat on her head.

"We should give them a few." Matt said glancing back in the direction he and Tai had just come from with a warm smile.
