These photos were taken by my father in Egypt, outside Cairo, so I don't have the benefit of a conversation with the weaver. Sorry. Couldn't be helped. But the photos are interesting and fairly informative on their own, I'd say.

Note the pattern block on the piece of wood, sitting on her loom. You can match it up to her weaving.

I wish I could be more informative about the weaver and what exactly she's doing, but you can infer some of her technique from the pictures.
