But sadly all things must come to an end and after the training each went their separate ways. They did meet once and while. Both were devastated but accepted it and believed they would meet again.
History: Ja-zel was a quiet child. She grew up on a farm along the Nile. The work made Ja-zel appreciate the land and animals on Ra’s creation. She acquired many morals such as honor, respect, integrity, and truthfulness. The quote “The quiet one always has the most to say” was true for Ja-zel. Ever since she was young she wanted to be in the army. Most thought she was wasting her time because women were not allowed in the army. But her father being in the army himself as the Commander saw the spark and charisma her daughter had. He believed in her and persuaded Pharaoh after many months to accept her in the army. Ja-zel had many years of schooling and had the strength the army required. When she enlisted the men made her life hell. They teased her and roughed her up but she would not drop out. Her soul was too strong to fall against such fools. She believed that what ever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Her father and mother were proud of her. She rose through the ranks like a falcon. Pharaoh was very impressed and wanted to consult with her. He told her due to a rivalry between Egypt and a neighboring country; that he was trying to make peace with, he would need a bodyguard or guardian to protect himself. Ja-zel was shocked she couldn’t believe Pharaoh would pick her a female for a chance to be his guardian. She had to receive training of course though but Ja-zel was very honored. The day she started training as a guardian she was in competition with about 10 other men all competing for the right to be a guardian for Pharaoh’s son and a guardian for Pharaoh himself. They all took seats and listened to the lecture that the elder was giving. Someone caught her eye from across the room; she glanced over only to meet eyes with the one true love of her life.. Ja-kal. Both looked away but looked back again compelled by the feeling of love both felt. She loved the way his noble blue eyes pierced her soul and filled it with warmth. Ja-kal dazed by the way she was watching him with her enchanting beauty felt so peaceful inside. They could hardly wait until the first day was over. Ja-zel was putting away her throwing knives after the training with knife-edged weapons when Ja-kal walked over to her. Both needed not to say a thing because they knew the other felt the same. Their relationship went on for a month because their training was only a month. At the end of their training came the selection process. Pharaoh was to choose the guardians he wanted. The elder told him the pros and cons of each competitor. Of course Ja-kal was chosen, for Pharaoh’s son. And then came Pharaoh’s guardian the hardest position and Ja-zel was chosen. Glad they each got a position Ja-kal and Ja-zel were a bit sad knowing it would be difficult to find times to be together. Each trusted their destiny and started the next day on their new job as guardians. Ja-zel was sent with Pharaoh to the feuding country to attempt to end the conflict. She liked the title Royal Guardian and how all the men bowed down to her and Pharaoh Amenhotep as they went by. They traveled by boat and reached the country in a few hours. They talked with the King of the feuding country. He was rude and arrogant and they couldn’t come up with a treaty. Exhausted by the end of the day Pharaoh and Ja-zel headed back to their boat. Looks like if they attacked again Pharaoh would have to send in the army. Ja-zel sensed movement in the dark night. She turned around and drew some throwing knives and came across three big burly men. Ja-zel shouted to Pharaoh to get on boat. She knew that he had to be safe. The men taunted her and lounged at her. She jabbed a knife into the belly of one and some how flipped one over her back and snapped his neck. The last man had a knife too, he charged at her. Ja-zel jumped and rolled to her feet to dodge him. She stared into his cold eyes and ignored the crude remarks he said. Knowing he had more strength then her Ja-zel counted on her lower body strength and her trusty throwing knives. The man charged her again with his knife drawn she ducked and kneed him right where it counts. The man stumbled around Ja-zel rose and gave him an uppercut to the chin. He fell backwards and coughed up blood knowing he would be dead soon she went to the boat. She stepped on and all bowed to her confused she went to Pharaoh a few paces to her left. “Royal Guardian Ja-zel you have showed speed, intelligence, bravery, and courage. You have saved my life you shall be decorated tomorrow”. Said Pharaoh these words Ja-zel always remembered. Ja-zel still shocked bowed and thanked him. Her fighting skills amazed him. The next day Ja-zel went to the Royal temple to receive her rewards. She saw every one who was associated with the Pharaoh, the government and most importantly Ja-Kal. Before the ceremony began she ran over to Ja-Kal and the two embraced each other and could hardy let go. He was so happy for her and they made plans to meet later that night by the Nile at a cozy little place under some trees, they saw when they were training. Ja-zel saw some Royal priests, and Pharaoh coming so she kissed Ja-Kal and hurried up to the platform. She stood at a attention as Pharaoh made his way to the platform. As Pharaoh came up and stood in front of her, Ja-zel kneeled and bowed her head. “Royal Guardian Ja-zel for showing such amazing courage and bravery I here present you with the warriors bow and this medal”. Pharaoh also said that now sense Ja-zel being a female could do a mans job that women can now be allowed in the army. Pharaoh then walked to the side of her to make way for the priests. She rose to attention for a bit then kneeled back down for the priests. “Oh brave Ja-zel, for the great acts you preformed we here present you with a new set of throwing knives, that are enhanced with magic and this Eye of Horus amulet. May it protect you like you protect Pharaoh.” Ja-zel arose to take the gifts and the priests left. Pharaoh once more came by and Ja-zel kneeled. “I wish you good fortune Ja-zel and may you be as fast and fierce as a talon of Horus.” Pharaoh turned around and walked off the platform. Ja-zel stood up at attention as the audience applauded. She walked of in a military fashion and the ceremony was over. As everyone was leaving Ja-Kal waited for her. They went off to their spot by the Nile and relaxed, glad to once more be together. Ja-Kal made a vow to her that he would always be with her and gave her pendant of two golden hearts joined together. In the morning she dressed and went outside her chamber in the palace, still thinking about the wonderful night she had with Ja-Kal. Ja-zel put her good-girl self away that night and let her actions do the talking with Ja-Kal, as he did the same. As she walked out ready to tackle the day with Pharaoh she glanced towards the sky. Her eyes meet with a falcon she was so fierce yet graceful in flight. She wondered if she could tame such a great hunter of the sky. When Ja-zel was done at the end of the day she was thinking of two things the falcon and of course Ja-Kal. She made a net and placed some rabbit remains on it, the net was tied at the ends and looped over a branch of a tree over the rabbit. The sun was low in the sky and a falcon was over head. The falcon saw the dead rabbit and dove in for it. Ja-zel hiding behind some bushes pulled the net shut and ran over to her trap. She succeeded and caught the falcon. She looked at the plumage of the bird and found it to be female. She named her Draco, after one of her favorite constellations. She made a little mask for the bird and a cage until she becomes tame. In the morning she showed Pharaoh, yet amazed again by her named her the Royal Falconer. After some training with Draco she could dive at a speed 200mph and hunt game fowl and some mammals. Ja-Kal was amazed by this and often called her “Talon”. Ja-zel would go on hunting trips with him and the rest of the hunters. All of them were jealous of how she handled the mighty hunter of the sky. It became harder and harder for Ja-zel and Ja-Kal to meet when Pharaoh went on trips around Egypt. Ja-zel went with Pharaoh along with Draco and sometimes Ja-zel wouldn’t see Ja-Kal for months. Ja-zel tried magic for a bit but didn’t like it. She did learn a few interesting things though. Then Ja-Kal grew depressed he missed Ja-zel and after a few months he meet Tia. And soon after married her. When Ja-zel returned back after a long stay at Memphis she went to see Ja-Kal, but he didn’t have the heart to tell her he married another. After a couple off weeks later Ja-zel left with Pharaoh to Memphis to take care of some government issues. Later they heard off the terrible news that Pharaohs son has been murdered and his guardians died while fighting to protect him. They raced back home that day to entomb Scarab and to prepare the guardians and his son to be mummified. Ja-zel couldn’t believe the fact that her love had died. Enraged with fury she wanted revenge, but knew inside that wouldn’t be right. Later that awful day Ja-zel returned to their little place by the Nile. The warm breeze that flowed over her shoulders comforted her; she sat there for many hours wondering why. She could close her eyes and picture him with her forever. She took her pendant Ja-Kal had given her and held it in her hand. She remembered his vow and knew that someday they would be together forever and placed the pendant back around her neck. Years passed by and Ja-zel never did meet another that was like Ja-Kal, his embrace comforted her in her times of darkness, he made her feel she could do anything, and he always was there for her when she needed him. Still the Royal Guardian and Falconer she went on knowing Ja-Kal was with her and watching over her. Pharaoh was at war with an another country and we weren’t doing that well. Running out of ideas, time and soldiers Pharaoh asked her to help. Ja-zel without a question wanted to fight. After a few battles the tide turned and we were winning the war. Ja-zel was appointed to commander of the whole army after showing her knowledge and strength. She went in the next day upon her stallion and Draco on her shoulder. This would be the finally fight of the war. She went in strong and took out most off the enemies. Then she was ambushed by hidden group of enemy soldiers, she called for her army and Pharaoh but they came to late. She took a good stab in the chest and Draco perished as well. The army continued fighting and killed off the men that has sentenced her. She hanged on for a little bit as she lay there dying, but she had a smile on her face. When Pharaoh asked why she was smiling she responded “I will meet my love again and I will die as a great warrior.” Pharaoh nodded and Ja-zel departed. Thanks to her Egypt won the war and Pharaoh ordered her tomb to be worked on non stop until it was done. It was to be lavished with jewels, gold and everything else a hero’s tomb would need. ( see New Addition, to how she joins the group )
Personality: Talon is a very versatile guardian. She can be quiet at times though. Her actions speak a lot louder then her words. She often competes with Ja-Kal as the leader but both are very fond of the other. She loves to say quotes and use complex words that everyone else would say “Huh!”. She loves to fight and might get carried away at times especially when in battle with Scarab. The word “honor” is a word Talon knows to well! She often needs to escape from the group and flies to a cliff overlooking the city and bay, she can easily spend hours there. Ja-zel loves to be in nature. Ja-zel often gets a gut feeling about something or someone that she calls her “sixth sense”.
Armor: Sense her armor represents “Horus” it does look some what like Ja-Kal’s but it differs in ways. The colors on her armor are blue, green and of course gold. Blue represents the sky and green represents the earth or ground. Because everything in between the sky and ground is where falcons fly. She has gold wings that have the same sliding mechanism as Ja-Kal’s.
Weapons: Ja-zel has two weapons, her double knife edged bow; that is made of gold, expect for the blades, and her throwing knives. Her throwing knives are often her first choice weapons, but when battling shabtis she prefers her bow. She has 10 dagger sized throwing knives that are kept in a holster on her lower left arm. Each are enhanced with magic that the Royal priests put on them. She can throw them and they disappear and reappear in her holster.
Style of Fighting: Talon loves to fight! She often goes ballistic and will slice and dice anything that poses a threat to her or her group. She will take on anything and knows no fear when fighting. Basically because the warrior or soldier side of Talon comes out. She believes magic has no place in fighting and says it should be a fight of skill. Talon considers anyone that doesn’t face her or runs away a coward.
Association with Ja-Kal: Ja-Kal admires her skills, bravery and mind. He thinks of her very highly and will do anything for her. Their feelings for each other often get themselves in trouble. He is not afraid to say he loves her. He is very affectionate towards her and would not mind her as his back up in a fight. The same is for Talon. Talon for- gave him when he married Tia, because he thought they would never meet again. She understands Ja-Kal a lot better then any of the others. The two often like to be alone at her cliff.
Association with Rath: Both are good friends and get along well. They like to do research, work on spells and look at scrolls. He finds it funny when she leaves the others clueless on explaining stuff to the others, because he is the only one besides her who understands those complex words. He will sometimes ask her opinion on a question or something that he doesn’t know (which doesn’t happen much). Talon likes his arrogant behavior and how he complains about things.
Association with Nefer-Tina: She tries to get Talon to do fun things like going to clubs, anything to get her away from scrolls or that cliff. They may get in quarrels, because they do not always see eye to eye. Talon thinks Nefer-Tina gets to sensitive about things, but does admit she does how to party. Talon also tries to get out of the way when Nefer-Tina is mad.
Association with Armon: They get along all right and often spar to see who knows Egypt-su better. They both consider each other formidable masters of Egypt-su, ---well most of the time. Talon often gets revolted when he stuffs his face or eats. But when Armon accidentally uses one of her knives to make a sandwich, Talon explodes with anger and might want to get revenge.
Association with Presley: He respects her and often asks her what his dad was like. They get along okay, since Presley finally has an equal for his video game battles. He is glad to have her on his side and not against him. They like to watch comedy shows together and “play” with her weapons. Talon thinks he is wise for his age, because he knows a lot about things that would normally be over his head.
What Scarab thinks: He can’t stand her and will often try to take her out first in a fight. He realizes her skills and considers her a formidable foe. He despises it when she charges after him from behind holding a knife and screaming “Terror from above!” Talon lives to do that to Scarab and also likes to launch a knife right next to his head.
Quote: Falcons fly, fly forever, wild and free the way you were meant to be. Talon |
