As Presley was sleeping this Friday morning his mother came to wake him up for school as usual. “ Ahho morning all ready mom, I’m still a little tired from yesterday”, Presley said. “It sure is son and hurry you slept in a little bit” his mom said. “I made you some breakfast, come in and eat after you get dressed,” she said. “Ok mom”, said Presley. “I’m sorry Presley I didn’t come home from my work at my normal time for the past couple of days”. “I have had a couple of late meetings with my boss about some hieroglyphics in Pharaoh Amenhotep’s tomb” she said. “That’s really cool mom have you interpreted what they say yet”, Presley said. “Well my boss has contacted some Egyptologists currently over there and they say the hieroglyphics talk about one of Amenhotep’s family guardians named Talon”, she said. Presley starts choking on some water over the amazement and says “oh great another guardian, under his breath”. “What was that you said Presley”, she asked. “Oh nothing mom I was just a little shocked over what you said”. “You can read about it in the newspaper if you want, it made the front page of the paper”. “I have some good news for you Presley, my boss wants me to take a flight to Egypt tonight and he felt really sorry that I stayed late at work this week and has invited you and some friends to come with”. “Really mom that is great I know exactly who to bring” he said with a smile on his face. “I knew you would like it,” she said. “That is good timing to” Presley said, “because, I have and Friday off due to a teacher in service day”. “Well you should go catch the bus it is almost time and ask one of your friends if they can watch the dog when we leave”, she said. “Ok mom, I’d pack some cloths when I get home too”, Presley said. “Bye Presley” she said, when he walked out the door. “See you later mom”. Mean while that morning Scarab picks up the paper at his place and begins to read. “Acckkk”, he screams in shock over the front page. “Hecka come over here and read this”, he shouts. “What is it boss” Hecka said. “Read that Hecka read the front page”, Scarab said. “A recent discovery of some hieroglyphics in Pharaoh Amenhotep’s tomb points to another tomb of one of his family guardians”, Hecka reads. “Woo Scarab we better do something about this and hope that tomb does not get found”, Hecka said. Scarab holds his head in shock and says “read more Hecka”. “The Hieroglyphics also tell the name of the guardian is Talon”, Hecka reads. “Who is Talon Scarab”, Hecka said. “Talon was the guardian of Amenhotep and his family, she is also a great warrior”, he said with his arms behind him staring out the window. “Talon was also a female”, he said. “Why is she named Talon”, Hecka said. “Her real name is Ja-Zel but after saving Amenhotep’s life once she was referred as being as cunning, intelligent, quick and strong as one of Horus’s talons”. Scarab grabs the front page of the newspaper and tears it in half, and says, “Talon will stay in her tomb for as long as I live”. “Me and you Hecka are going on a one way trip to Egypt tonight and are going to find and destroy Talon’s tomb”, Scarab said with a devilish grin on his face. “Hello everyone”, Presley said as he walked into the Sphinx. “Greetings young prince”, Ja-Kal said. “Hey Ja-Kal guess what I got planned tonight”, Presley said. “What is it Presley”, Ja-Kal replied. “You guys and me are all going to Egypt for four days with my mom’s business to find one of Amenhotep’s family guardian’s tombs”. Ja-Kal gently grabs Presley’s arm and says “do you know the guardians name young prince”? “Yeah Ja-Kal someone named Talon I think”, Presley replied. Ja-Kal thinks to himself “no it couldn’t be or could it”? Ja-Kal suddenly snaps out of it and says “whoa young prince as much as you and everyone else would love to go I not sure about this trip, there is many dangers there”, Ja-Kal said. “What are you guys talking about” Nefer-Tina said, as she walked in on the conversation? Then Rath and Armon come in also with the same question. “Presley said he is going to Egypt with his mom and business to find one of Amenhotep’s family guardian’s tombs”, Ja-Kal said. “He has also invited us to come with, the trip is for four days and I am concerned about his safety”, Ja-Kal replied. “I think that is wonderful, I agree with Presley”, said Nefer-Tina excitedly. “ I don’t know about this young prince”, said Rath “I going to have to agree with Ja-Kal on this one”. “I guess it would be okay Presley just as long as we stayed with you”, said Armon. “May I think about it for a while young prince”, said Ja-Kal. “Sure but I am going to have to leave in two hours so hurry and figure out what you are going to do”, said Presley. “And don’t forget to pack if you do decide to come with and meet me at my house when we are going to leave”, Presley said. “Got it Presley”, said Ja-Kal. Ja-Kal borrowed the Jet-Cycle and rode it out of the Sphinx, to a cliff over looking the city. He gets off the bike and walks close to the edge and says, “I have a chance to meet my first love again but is it the right thing to do”? “My prince’s safety always comes before my life just once I want my life to come first”. As Ja-Kal stands there with the north wind blowing over his shoulders pondering that question a tear rolls down his face then says, “I will come for you my love if it is only thing I do for you and myself, my love Ja-Zel”. He stands there for quite some time then gets back on the Jet-Cycle and drives to Presley’s house. He knocks on the door and is cautious not to be noticed by others. Presley comes to the door and opens it. “I have decided it would be safe if we all came on the trip my prince”, Ja-Kal says. “That is great Ja-Kal get packed”, he replies. “Will do” Ja-Kal replies. “Hurry we leave in an hour”. “Okay young prince we will all be here in an hour”, and then Ja-Kal hops on the Jet-Cycle and rushes back to the sphinx, to tell the others. “I see you have returned Ja-Kal”, said Rath with a confused look on his face. “Yes I have I’ve decided to tell Presley that it would be okay if we all went to Egypt with him”. “Really Ja-Kal that is great, I am going to tell Armon,” Nefer-Tina said. “Ja-Kal are you feeling okay you have been out for quiet some time”, Rath said. “Yes Rath I just had to do something that was why I was out for a bit longer”, Ja-Kal said. “Now lets get packed and head on over to Presley’s house, we have an half hour so lets get going”, he stated. “ Humph”, Rath said to himself, “ I know there is something he is not telling me, but what?” pondered Rath. Meanwhile at Presley’s house Presley is all packed and waits for his mom to show up any time now. Then a couple minutes later his mom parks the car and walks inside. “ Hi Presley all packed and ready?” she said as she put her stuff away. “ Yep mom all ready to go and I found one of my friends to watch after the dog too.” “ That’s great Presley I’m already packed too, I just have to put some other things away.” “Oh son are your friends coming soon”, as she glances at her watch. “Oh I have a feeling that they will be here any second now” he says as he glances at Armon waving his hand in the window. Knock knock… “I am coming,” said Presley. As he opened the door to his friends waiting patiently outside. “Hello O prince may we come in?” said Rath. “Sure make your selves at home,” Presley said. The group came in sat down on the couch and put their bags next to the door all nicely in a row. As Ja-Kal probably told them to do before they came. “ Honey are your friends here yet”, “I’ll be done in a second”, his mom said. “Yes mom their here”, he said. “Good clothes guys did you all have enough for the trip”, said Presley. “Yes Rapses we had plenty”, said Ja-Kal. “Okay guys I’m done, oh Presley you sure did bring a lot of friends”, said his mom. “You know me mom the more the merrier”. “Well lets leave we should all have enough room in my van to get the airport”, said Presley’s mom. Then the group picked up their bags and put them in the van and was off to the airport to catch their flight to Egypt. Meanwhile over at the airport Scarab was loading his goods and preparing for a flight to Egypt as well. “To have your own private jet and pilot is the only way to fly the sometimes friendly skies Hecka”, Scarab said cunningly. “Yes but do you really trust a shabti as a pilot boss” Hecka said. “ Well I can’t fly worth crud so this is the best we can do”. “Okay I got some spells, some disguises, and most importantly money”, he said has he stepped inside his jet. “Start the engines” Scarab shouted, “I want to get there early”. Then his plane lurched forward and begun to taxi to the runway. Then far across the airport the mummies, Presley, and his mom just boarded their airline and are waiting to take off. Ja-Kal was thinking “I wonder what my homeland will look like after so many years, will I even recognize it and will Ja-Zel still have feelings for me?”. “So many questions they will just have to wait till I get there”. Ja-Kal presses his hand to the widow and watches as their plane slowly taxied to the runway. Rath is still pondering what is with Ja-Kal and having some of the same thoughts as him as the plane moved too. He puts his hand on his chin and watches Ja-Kal a seat before him with his hand still on the window, “hmmm this surly is something big” Rath thinks to himself. A good couple of hours later the mummies, Presley, and his mom finally arrive in Egypt it is mid-afternoon and everyone seems to be in a good mood. “We are back home… I feel so complete”, said Ja-Kal. “Yes I know what you mean it is as if we have returned back to our roots”, replied Rath. “This is going to be so cool I can’t wait”, Nefer-Tina said. “ I wonder if the food as changed”, said Armon. Everyone chuckles a bit and walks with Presley’s mom who is luckily not listening to the conversation. “Okay guys here’s the game plan since it is mid-afternoon and everyone seems kind of tired well take the rental car my boss has provided us with and go to our hotel”, said Presley’s mom. “Then we will unpack and go out for some fine Egyptian food”, she said. “Sounds good”, said everyone. Then they all loaded in the car and were on their way to the hotel. Just a couple of minutes later Scarab arrived and was going to unpack at a hotel too. He had plans of his own to make too. When he got to his hotel he was dressed as Harris Stone. When he got to his room he slipped into his normal apparel. He unloaded his belongings and worked on a spell. He stood with his arms raised and concentrating on his statue of Osiris. “I call upon the spirit Osiris bring forth what I desire, bring forth the location of the guardian known as Talon”. A couple of minutes later nothing. “Dang Scroll why didn’t it work”? Scarab said angrily. “Let me see Scarab” said Hecka. “Ah that is why it won’t work it has to be said by a priest” Hecka said. “ Oh to oblivion with it”, said Scarab. He tosses the scroll to the corner, “come with me Hecka”, he says. He grasps Hecka and takes the elevator to the roof of the hotel. He walks close to the edge and stands staring at the pyramids with the sun low in the western sky. “ The world I left behind has changed so much but the soul of the past still is here, I feel it Hecka”. “Tonight we strike all I need to know is where that tomb is located”. “I know boss why don’t you summon Anubis he would know?” said Hecka. In shock Scarab said “Are you out of your mind! I hate the bumbling moron.” “But”…Scarab pacing around in a circle, “I must know where she is. Oh all right what the Heck” Scarab grabs Hecka and walks down to his room and prepares for the incantation. Meanwhile back at the hotel the mummies are in good spirit and are surprised to see that so many things have changed. “So much is different”, said Rath as he looks out their hotel window. “I know what you mean” replied Ja-Kal, “but it saddens me…to see our wonderful monuments and statues all weathering away or destroyed”. Both are silent and hold their heads low in respect. Presley’s mom glances over at them, and mumbles “my son sure knows how to pick his friends” to herself. Then she says, “ since there is six of us and only a few beds, I’m going to call my boss and see if I can get another room for us”. “Yeah mom it would be kind of crowded in here”, Presley says. Armon is busy checking the cabinets and refrigerator for food while Nefer-Tina flips through the channels on the TV. “Okay we got another room and its right next door” Presley’s mom said. “Great mom” Presley replied. Her cell phone starts to ring. “Yes,..really,.. I’ll be right there in a couple of minutes.”, she folds up here phone, “yes!”. “Presley great news we think we found were that tomb might be located”, his mom says. “Cool mom, where”, Presley replies. “They found a clue that states “Under the hunters belt in the night sky lies my guardian the brave one named Talon”. The mummies walk into the conversation. “I’m sorry everyone I’ve got to go meet my boss, so that means we can’t go out for dinner”. “So for these night and these night only you can order room service, but remember my boss is paying for everything so don’t order anything expensive”. Presley’s mom says. “Yes!, that’s all right mom we understand. Presley replied. “Okay I’m off and I’ll tell you anything that comes up bye all” she says. Then she walks out the door. “Hmm, digging up tombs is not right”, said Rath. “Yeah, Rath they should stay where they are”, said Nefer-Tina. “I don’t like it either”, replied Armon. Ja-Kal thinking to himself, “This could be it, will I meet Ja-Zel again?”. “They are digging it up, because they want to learn more about them and ancient Egypt”, said Presley. “Yes but it is still not right”, replied Rath angrily. “What do you think Ja-Kal”, said Nefer-Tina. “Oh… well..I’m for both sides I guess”. “Both sides!” said Nefer-Tina.“Yes that is what I think!”, Ja-Kal said. He than walked briskly out the door and made his way to the roof. “What got into him”, said Armon. “I don’t know but I’m bringing him back”, replied Nefer-Tina. “No! don’t something is bothering him and I know what it is”, said Rath. “I hope he will be alright”, said Presley. “He will,.. he will” Rath said. Ja-Kal stepped out the door to the roof. The warm air brushed around him with the moonlit sky shinning down. He stared at the constellation Orion, “I know where she is, but why do I feel this way”. Ja-Kal dropped to his knees. “You’re in love”, said a familiar voice. He stood up still facing away, “Rath?” “Yes”, Rath said. “How did you know about this?” said Ja-Kal. Rath walked close to him and put his hand on his shoulder. “ I too Ja-Kal was in love,.. I know how it feels.” Ja-Kal glances up again to Orion, “I know where she is, I want to be with her, but I’m loyal to Tia.” “I take it you know who is in that tomb”, said Rath. “Yes it is my first love Ja-Zel”, replied Ja-Kal. “Your heart is telling you something Ja-Kal, you must listen”. “But I’m so confused..”, Ja-Kal replied. Rath took a deep breath “Just believe your heart, it will be your guide”. Both paused. “I understand now,…thank you Rath”. “Just helping a friend”, then Rath walked towards the door. Rath stopped for a minute and looked at Ja-Kal who was still staring at Orion, he mumbled “Be wise Ja-Kal and do what you believe”. He then walked down to the rest of the group and would try to explain Ja-Kal’s actions. “God of embalming, jackal of the scared sands, the one named Anubis come forth now.” “This should be good”, said Scarab pathetically. A faint glow starts to emerge, then Anubis appears. “Oh a see you need another favor Scarab”, says Anubis as he crosses his arms. “Yes I do, you dimwitted dog you”, says Scarab. “What was that!” Anubis said impatiently. “Yes I do you delightful god you, he-he” “Okay that’s better, what do you need?”, said Anubis. “I need the location of the tomb of the one named Talon AKA Ja-Zel”, Scarab said. “Oh I can do that just give me a little space and little time and you will have your wish”, said Anubis. “Excellent”, Scarab rubs his hands together. “Now that wasn’t that bad huh Scarab,” said Hecka. “Yes for once things are starting to look good for me and Talon will never be a threat”. Amanda Carnavon arrived to the hum of generators that where providing light to the team of excavators. “Good evening Amanda” said her boss Mr. Hepplewhite. “You too now give me all the news about the tomb of the Royal Guardian Talon”, said Amanda. “I will be glad to”, said Mr. Hepplewhite. The two walked to Amenhotep’s tomb and tried to hold on to their hats due to an approaching sandstorm. Mr. Hepplewhite held a lantern to the specific hieroglyphics in the lit tomb. “The hieroglyphs state ‘Under the hunters belt in the night sky lies my guardian the brave one named Talon’”, said Mr. Hepplewhite. “We think that when the Constellation Orion is at its highest point in the sky that directly under Orion’s belt lies Ja-Zel’s tomb”. “Hmm” Amanda thinks to herself “well let’s get on it”. “Yes and I do believe in a couple of minutes Orion will be in his spot”, said Mr. Hepplewhite. The two rode in a jeep with a guide and lead the rest of the Egyptologists with them. They found the spot it was on a cliff top and facing the rest of the tombs it was about 5 miles away from Amenhotep’s tomb. The wind was picking up and the moon was shining down on the team like the eye of a falcon. Some workers started up generators to provide light.“ Get the team started so we can find the tomb beneath the sands”, said Mr. Hepplewhite to the workers. The head Egyptologist Mr. Edward Beckle, came up to Mr. Hepplewhite, “Since the storm is coming closer I just want to uncover the tomb tonight so we can prevent any damage to the inside of the tomb.” “I agree I would prefer open the tomb tomorrow when there is more light and when this blasted storm is gone”, said Mr. Hepplewhite. He passed the news on to Amanda who was watching, as the workers were busy shoveling away the sand. About 15 minutes later the workers came across a solid stone door with some hieroglyphics on it. “Excellent! Clear away the sand” shouted Mr. Hepplewhite. As the workers cleared the sand away from the entrance and the door of the tomb everyone was excited to see what the hieroglyphs said. Mr. Beckle rushed to the door and held his lantern to it. The hieroglyphs read “Here lies the Royal Guardian of Pharaoh disturb this tomb and thou will be cursed”. A chill came across Mr. Beckle’s spine as he read it out loud. The storm grew weak, the wind slowed down and the clouds moved away from the full moon. Even Amanda and Mr. Hepplewhite were a bit scared. Mr. Beckle glanced at Mr. Hepplewhite and said, “I think that this is a good time to stop for the night and continue tomorrow morning”. Everyone agreed and loaded in the jeeps. Some workers put up a fence to keep anyone or animal away from the tomb until morning. While others were shutting down the generators. Amanda said good night to her boss and took a jeep to her car. Amanda took out her cell phone and called Presley at the hotel. “Hey Presley we found the tomb and are going to open it tomorrow, isn’t that great”, said his mom. Presley agreed and was told to go to bed and have his friends do the same. Meanwhile Scarab was busy preparing to raid the tomb as Anubis gave him a map to the tomb. “Okay Scarab this is your map to the tomb”, said Anubis as he handed it to him. “Wonderful” shouted Scarab as held the map. Hecka slithered to him. “Now we leave for the tomb” said Scarab. He held the map in his hands and raised it high “Let’s rock Hecka!” “So you’re using the language of today”, said Hecka grinning. Scarab looked at Hecka, “I thought I should give it a try”, he said. He sent Anubis back to the Western gate and transformed. He opened a window and flew his way to the tomb, with Hecka. “I’m tired I’m going to bed guys”, said Presley. He changed to his pajamas and went to brush his teeth. “I guess we better do the same”, said Nefer-Tina. Rath inspected the beds, “how awkward, we sleep laying down under covers?”. “Well we don’t have our Sarcophagi with us”, said Armon, who was finishing up the last of the pizza. Nefer-Tina lies down on one, “hey this isn’t that bad”. Everyone tried it. Then came in Ja-Kal. He watched as everyone was lying down on the beds and giving their opinions. He thought it was quiet funny and gave a chuckle. “Hey Ja-Kal were have you been you missed dinner”, said Nefer-Tina as she sat up off the bed. “I was just looking around in the hotel”, said Ja-Kal nervously. “Oh” replied Nefer-Tina. “You missed dinner, we had pizza” said Armon. “I wasn’t really hungry tonight” replied Ja-Kal. Ja- Kal walked over to the sink to get a glass of water to quench his thirst. As the cup was filling he felt a dull pain. “Oooh”, he turned the sink off, put his glass down and held his head. “Something is wrong,..Ja-Zel is in trouble!” “What’s wrong Ja-Kal are you okay?” said Nefer-Tina. The others rushed over to Ja-Kal’s aid. Knowing he couldn’t tell the others now he made up an excuse. “I..I need some air”, replied Ja-Kal still holding his head. He opened the sliding door to the little balcony and singled Rath to come with. Rath followed curiously with a confused expression on his face and closed the door behind them. Nefer-Tina and Armon looked at each other and shrugged their shoulders and went back to what to what they were doing. “Rath Ja-Zel is in danger, I feel it I must go”, said Ja-Kal. Rath nodded. “Tell the others I went to look around some more” “Will do Ja-Kal, but be careful we do not have our sarcophagi with us so use you energy wisely”. Ja-Kal transformed and looked back at Rath “don’t worry I’ll be okay”. He spread his golden wings; they sparkled in the moonlight and flew off the balcony. Feeling slightly better, he knew he had to hurry because his hunting instinct could sense the danger. Rath watched Ja-Kal fly off and wished him luck and walked back in. Then Presley’s mom came in. Rath rushed himself and the others into the other room. Hoping not to be seen and in bed so the young prince wouldn’t get in trouble. Presley was all done getting his pajamas on and brushing his teeth and emerged from the bathroom. “Where are your friends at Presley?” “Ah…their in bed sleeping, they sure were tired”, Presley said anxiously and hoping he was right. “Oh that’s good, well let me tell you about this tomb Presley”, said Amanda. Presley walked over to his mom and peeked into the half-opened door and luckily saw them in bed. He wiped his forehead and sat down to listen. After he heard about the tomb, his mom went to bed and Presley rushed into the room with the others, and Rath explained the scenario everyone and told them Ja-Kal would be back soon. For getting what Ja-Kal had told him. Scarab landed outside the fencing to the tomb. Dust and sand flew into the moonlit sky. “Hmm it appears someone has all ready done the dirty work for us Hecka”. “Yes they cleared all the sand away from the tomb” Scarab slashed his way past the gate and advanced to the tomb. He read the hieroglyphics, “ha curse like will scare me”. Scarab said that in a cocky way. Still transformed he jammed his hands into the edges the tomb and put his foot to the side and pulled with all his might. Crack! The seal broke and the tomb door slowly opened. Dust and stale air came forth to greet them. Hecka coughed a few times, “Ugh boss I think I’ll just stay here!” Hecka said nervously. “Suit your self”. Scarab entered a few feet and found a torch. He lit it with some magic and continued on. The tomb was dark, enormous, and had an eerie silence to it. He came to a statue of a falcon standing on the pedestal. Scarab removed the cobwebs, dust and read the inscription. It read, “Protrude further and face the wrath of the Royal Guardian”. Scarab ignored it and walked further. Just outside the tomb Ja-Kal landed. “This has to be it,” he said confidently. He saw Hecka nervously slithering outside. He got the jump on her and knocked her out so she couldn’t warn Scarab. Ja-Kal entered the tomb, luckily Scarab lit all the torches on the wall so Ja-Kal knew where he was. Using his superior hunting skills he crept up behind him and pounced on him. “Arggh, so you came after all Ja-Kal”, Scarab said cunningly. “I will not let you get your hands on Talon!” Scarab. The two paced around the tomb waiting to strike. Scarab lunged at Ja-Kal; “You will meet your fate again foolish mummy!” Crack! A swift movement is felt by the two. All of the torches on the wall go out but one suddenly lights up next to them. “I know that voice of evil anywhere!” said a voice. Then the one who said that stepped into the light, reveling the figure of a woman mummy, holding a throwing knife. Scarab and Ja-Kal stop fighting for a moment. “Ja-zel is that..you?!”, said Ja-Kal. “Yes it is! And I would never forget you..Ja-Kal!!” “Ugh love birds, literally!” replied Scarab in disgust and blasted Ja-Kal off of him. “Uh lets talk later” said Ja-zel, Ja-Kal nodded. Ja-zel lunged at Scarab and threw three throwing knives towards him. She landed on top of him and her knives flew a hair past his head. “Ja-zel transform and you will have greater strength!” Ja-Kal shouted as he picked himself up. “How do you do that?!” responded Ja-zel as she and Scarab continued rolling around and fighting. “Just say ‘With the strength of Ra!’” said Ja-Kal. “With the strength of Ra!” shouted Ja-zel. Blue, green and gold armor appeared on her in the shape of a falcon. “Oh yes! Ah-ha-haa, time to do some damage”, said Ja-zel glancing at all the goodies and the armor. Scarab broke loose while Ja-zel was admiring her armor, Ja-Kal launched an arrow at him sending him back a couple of feet. “Must get out of here”, Scarab said as he started running for the exit. He knocked over the falcon statue, it started glowing and seconds later came alive and flew out the tomb and dove after Hecka. The falcon started chasing Hecka. “Scarab, Scarab!! Help me!” replied Hecka. “Just go under a rock!”, said Scarab. “Draco! Your back too”, shouted Ja-zel. Draco shrieked and stood on top of the rock Hecka was under. Ja-zel put on a grin and the two advanced towards Scarab who was walking back-wards facing the two. “Shabties attack!” said Scarab as he pointed at them. “As you two were busy admiring that rat with wings over there I took the liberty of summoning some friends of mine to play with you.” Replied Scarab has he laughed and ran back inside the tomb. Ja-zel gritted her teeth and started slashing away shabties with her bow. Ja-Kal pulled out his bow and arrows and began launching them left and right too. “If I can’t destroy her I’ll destroy her sarcophagus,” shouted Scarab and started madly running towards it. “Ja-Kal I’ll be right back, I got a feeling ol’ beetle buns is going to do something bad in my tomb”. “Don’t worry I can cover them, go Talon”. Ja-zel looked back you remember, she smiled and ran inside her tomb. Ja-Kal smiled back and took on the remaining twelve. Scarab stopped a couple of feet away from it and raised his hand ready to blast the sarcophagus into a million of pieces. “Ha-ha-haa”, Scarab laughed evilly. “Oh no you don’t!” Ja-zel ran and jumped on Scarab’s back and covered his eyes. “Guess who! beetle butt!” said Ja-zel. “Why you nauseating Royal Guardian, get off me!” replied Scarab as he reached in back of himself and threw her off. Ja-zel rolled to her feet. “Uh-uh-uh, wrong that’s Talon the Royal Guardian”. “Just for that you must face me” she pulled out a knife and very slowly began pacing. “This will be fun!” shouted Scarab. “Make my day big boy FIGHT me”. “I was planning on doing that later, but I guess I can do it now”, then he charged at her. “Bring it on, I want revenge!” yelled Ja-zel. The two met and began punching and kicking. “You never fought with honor Scarab you always had to use magic when fighting!” “I still do you nitwit.” then shot a blast at her. Ja-zel dodged out of the way, “Whoa to slow”. Ja-zel tossed him to the wall and jumped on him pinning him down and raised a knife above his throat. “I should have done this when I heard you killed the young prince and his guardians.” “But you couldn’t you were spineless!” replied Scarab. “Spineless! never, it would not have been right. Unlike you when I was in my tomb it was with honor!” “Spare me your preaching” The two heard something. “Ja-zel I need your help!” shouted Ja-Kal from outside. Scarab grinned. “I’ll finish you later!” replied Ja-zel. She picked up Scarab and ran with him out not trusting him in there. “Put me down you retched guardian”, yelled Scarab. “With pleasure”, responded Ja-zel as she smiled. She threw him out of the tomb on a near by rock that was the size of a beach ball. “How nice of you, ah-ah, to use a rock to break my fall”, shouted Scarab as he lay on the ground rubbing his back. Scarab was full of pain because his armor only protected little on the spot on his back where Ja-zel threw him. “Draco guard the entrance if he goes in peck out his eyes or something”, Ja-zel said. Draco shrieked and flew over the tomb entrance, thus leaving Hecka free. But she didn’t move for fear of Draco and stayed under the rock. Scarab didn’t want to mess with the falcon but had another idea. Ja-zel glanced over at Ja-Kal his power ran out and he was out of energy and there were four shabtis that had picked him up and were walking to the cliff edge. “Ja-Kal!!! I’m coming!!” Shouted Ja-zel at the top of her lungs and charged after him. “Ja-zel watch out! behind you!!” yelled Ja-Kal a couple feet away from the edge now. Pow! Scarab blasted her sending her flying about six feet. “No Ja-zel!!!” Ja-Kal struggled for freedom but exhausted from fighting and a little bruised couldn’t get free. “Foolish mummy now I will finish you both off”, said Scarab. He ordered his shabtis to stop a foot away from the edge. “Ugh-uh-ah” mumbled Ja-zel rubbing her head lying a couple of feet away from Ja-Kal. “I have a little show for you…Talon. Since you missed seeing Ja-Kal perish for the first time you will see him go now. Then I will have you join him.” Ja-zel a little woozy stumbled to her feet holding her head. “Never!” Two more shabtis arose from the sands and held her still. “Ja-zel save yourself go!” replied Ja-Kal. “No I won’t leave you!” replied Ja-zel. Scarab chuckled a bit. “Throw him!” said Scarab. The shabtis tossed him over the edge. “No!!!” Ja-zel found the strength to break free and ran to the edge. “What the heck!” replied Scarab. He tried to shoot her again but Ja-zel dodged them and dove off the cliff. Her falcon armor was very aerodynamic and she quickly clutched on to Ja-Kal. She spread her gold wings and flew up only seconds before they would have hit the bottom. “I won’t loose you again Ja-Kal” “I neither could I, Ja-zel” “Take hold of my amulet Ja-Kal, bet since we have like armor you can jumpstart your amulet and be able to transform”. Ja-Kal did and he had full power again and he was in his armor. Ja-zel flew up and landed and released Ja-Kal back on the ground. “Okay Scarab you want to finish our fight now”. “Uh-oh, how about we take a rain check and go about it later”, Scarab ran grabbed hecka, and flew off. “Coward!”, replied Ja-zel. Ja-zel and Ja-Kal then quickly finished off the rest of the shabtis. After they finished off the last one they glanced at each other. One need not say a word for they knew what the other was saying. “I knew someday we would meet again Ja-Kal my life without was so dull I thought about you everyday”. Said Ja-zel as looked into his eyes and moved closer to him. Draco flew to a near by tree and perched. “You too Ja-zel… you filled my heart and soul with so much joy and you still do.” They embraced each other. “But there is something you should know”, replied Ja-Kal. Ja-zel moved away a little bit a little confused. “Here take my hand, there is something I must do”, Ja-Kal spread his wings and Ja-zel did the same. She motioned for Draco to follow. The two took off holding hands and flew to a little place by the Nile that was full of beautiful lotus flowers. He landed, un-transformed and picked one of the lotuses. The water dripped off the stem. The moon reflected off the Nile and was so beautiful. He held the lotus to his heart and kneeled down by the edge of the Nile. Ja-zel un-transformed and Draco again flew to a near by tree. “With this lotus I vow to never to forget you Tia, I have a promise to keep and I must stick by my word. May one day we meet again.”, said Ja-Kal as he placed the lotus in the Nile and watched the river take it down stream. “I’m sorry I had no idea.. Ja-Kal”. “No Ja-zel it is my fault I neglected to tell you when you came back from a long trip with Pharaoh Amenhotep”. Ja-zel walked over to Ja-Kal and said “ You know Ja-Kal I could never stay mad at you, for Ra knows I’m not perfect either”. “Let’s just leave those things in the past for now”, said Ja-zel. Ja-Kal nodded as he stood up and the two embraced each other and stared into the night. Thanking fate for once again bringing each other together again. Mean while back at the hotel the others had gotten nervous because Ja-Kal has been gone for a while now. So the others had sneaked out of the hotel and stolen a taxi to drive out to the site. “Guys are you sure you now where we are going?” replied Presley. “Sure young prince we should be there anytime now.” Replied Nefer-tina trying to ignore Rath’s directions because they weren’t working. About thirty minutes later the group found him. “Guys I don’t think taxis are real good off-road vehicles”, said Presley. “Well as long as it got us here it can go off-road”. Said Armon. The group walked over to Ja-Kal and another. “Well there you are Ja-Kal and who is that? We were worried sick.”, said Nefer-tina. “Yeah”, said Rath. “Well this is Ja-zel”, replied Ja-Kal. “And we had just finished a bad fight with Scarab.” Replied Ja-zel. “And please call me Talon” replied Ja-zel. “ Well welcome to the group Talon!”, said everybody. Presley walked forward, “Where you a guardian too..Talon? I’m asking because this Rapses guy spirit was reborn in me.”, asked Presley. Dumbfounded Ja-zel kneeled to him and answered his question. “I was the Royal Guardian to your father Pharaoh Amenhotep and the Royal Falconer.”, young prince. “I suggest we go back to the hotel and discuss things there it’s getting late”. Said Ja-Kal. All agreed and hoped in the car. Talon told everyone about her self in the taxi. Back at Scarab’s hotel he was ticked off and was planning to leave. “Cursed mummies the mess with me so much”. Throwing his stuff back in his suitcases. “Tomorrow shall be are last day in Egypt Hecka” “We should do something fun and relaxing boss”, said Hecka. “Hmm yeah maybe your right Hecka, something fun.”, said Scarab as he threw some swimming shorts on the bed and some tanning oil. “Oh dear Ra..”, Hecka mumbled “That should be fun, he..he-he, ooh”, said Hecka as she slithered under the bed. The mummies carefully crept inside the hotel and slipped in their beds. Ja-zel was still confused at all the changes that had happened to the world over the years, but the others helped her out. They had a strategy of sneaking her out of Egypt and getting her sarcophagus too. When the crew came in the next day they would pack up all the stuff and ship it back to San Francisco before any more damage could be done. Talon would carefully creep in and ride back. While the others flew in another plane. And when they would deliver the artifacts at the museum they would quickly pick up the sarcophagus and Talon. Then they would have pulled it off and have a new addition to the group. |
