ONLY AT NIGHT

A moment of peace
Won't hurt us too much
The anguish won't cease
But lessen with a touch
The pain will not die
But the wound starts to heal
Still sometimes I cry
Such confusion I feel
It's not right to be here
But too good to be wrong
There is much that I fear
And the night is so long
Against you I'm warm
Though I don't know my part
As I die in your arms
I'm reborn in your heart
You hold me so tight
I know what you're feeling
But the east turning light
Sends my battered soul reeling
Then back as we were
Out of sight, out of mind
We can forget the hurt
Until the night, when you're mine.
