John Singer Sargent (1856-1925) is world famous for his portraits of the elite of his time. He was also extremely versatile in other mediums, such as this watercolor "portrait" of some less handsome characters! This was painted in 1917 while he was wintering in Florida to paint a portrait of John D. Rockefeller. |
