Les Coming Soon dans les chroniques Tamazic :
- En back up band de Jane Kidder : Jane Kidder & The Outcast, le Comptoir de la Folie Ordinaire, 13 octobre 2005.
- Plus ou moins tous ensemble avec Bear Creak / The Matching Cubes, en ouverture des 2 grands shows anti-folf des 22 et 23 octobre 2005 (en anglais seulement).
- Leur concert au Bistro des Tilleuls, le 28 octobre 2005.
Grâce à la bio de Ben Lupus, signée Ben Lupus - 13 janvier 2006, piquée sur le blog de Ben Lupus, en anglais pas traduite, il est possible de s'y retrouver dans l'histoire du groupe (pour ceux qui maîtrise l'anglais) :
ben lupus was born some twenty years ago, and somehow grew-up in a small town surrounded with mountains & water, though we have no clue of what happened until his 18th birthday, when he was offered a guitar and "unreleased cutz and live jamz" by the moldy peaches.
ben lupus played for a while in a band called the nietzschissimus orchestrà, with the beautiful jane kidder (his friend since their early childhood ?), and started to record songs on his own, as captain kids. he also contributed to his now famous brother's side project: bear creek.
the nietzschissimus orchestrà was about to become the coolest indie rock band ever when someone went insane -really, it's hard to know who did- and while jane kidder went round the world, looking for a new meaning to give to that old love feeling, the other members tried to settle down for a few months - locked up in their haunted castle's basement. the three boys (including billy jet pilot, the amazing leo, and ben himself) started writing a lot of songs, playing some shows and recording new stuff whenever they had the chance to. a new band was born: coming soon.
(coming soon is a democratic band, if such a thing can be. billy plays bass and sings, leo plays drums and sings, ben plays guitar and sings. most of the songs are written by ben, but this is about to change, and the music is always by coming soon. words and music are both inspired by landscapes and cityscapes, girls/boys relationships, western tales and martial arts)
but then jane came back, and though the nietzschissimus orchestrà doesn't exist anymore, coming soon sometimes plays as her backing band (jane kidder & the outcasts - ben plays ukulele). she also sings on almost every recording of ben lupus, and during coming soon's shows (back-up).
what else? billy's bought his brother a guitar, and charles/chips -brilliant film director and awkward human being- became howard hughes - great song-writer and modern lover. coming soon recorded a full lenght album with him; it's called "brotherly loved" and honestly, that's the best things you could play on your radio.
ben lupus also contributed to the antsy pants album - with kimya dawson. he's still recording solo stuff ( now as ben lupus & the post-romantic vegan werewolves - ben was starting to feel seasick)
