Wonder years
At an age, even before I had joined primary school in India I spent an year in London, England and attended
a school there for an year. In fact I even got an opportunity of traveling around Europe at a very young age,
thanks to my fathers job. Since that time though, I have never been to any foreign land, before of course, I arrived in USA.
....and believe it or not that's how I looked at that time. I don't know where I lost the extra muscle.

My school: That's me, L5 in the center row! Your Truly!

Since I arrived in India I joined, or rather my parents enrolled me in Bharati Vidyapeeth English Medium
High School. My stay in London had however hampered my 'educational prospects' and I had to skip a year in my
schooling life and start with pre-primary education again (ironically it cant be called golden year after
considering what I got instead). There I completed all of my schooling and made the best friends of my life, ever.
It was a truly fantastic experience!
I do miss all of my friends from school, just like they miss me ;). And though I still am in touch with
some of those great brains through the BVP1994 Yahoo! egroups, most of them are now long
lost down the memory lanes.

After high school the wonder years were over though :)

Of course the coolest group of all times, Ol-Pals still remains in touch.
This stubborn lot includes, if only you are wondering, Prasanna, Aditya, Achyut,
Abhishek and Salil, apart from me....by the way that's exactly the order in which I met them first.
Panya now has an MS in mechanical engineering, Adya an MBA while Ballya is pursuing MTech at IIT-Powai.
Abhishek the IT professional is a "time traveller", works in Germany and shops in Belgium,
Holland.... Salya looks all set for an MS in computer and information sciences.

After high school I joined Laxmanrao Apte Junior College, thanks to the advice of my old chum, Salil.
And that was a turning point for me. Though, in retrospect, I could have managed to gain more from it,
academically, it still was a fabulous experience with all those brainy people. I am sure each guy
amongst those must have enjoyed the company of all others.

I graduated with a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering from MIT, University of Pune and then
completed my Master of Science from Ohio State University. That's where I am currently, pursuing a doctoral degree.
