Prisoners of War are those who have surrendered in combat rather than facing death. If someone surrenders during a battle it is the option of the soldier whom he has surrendered to, to either accept or kill him anyways. Prisoners of War are held for the entire length of the war and may be treated as per the Declaration of War. That means that they can either be sold as slaves, executed, tortured/imprisoned or exchanged for other prisoners of war that the enemy may have from your side.

POWs are not allowed to escape until the war is over. POWs that do violate the rules will not be allowed to participate in the rest of the war. At the end of the war, if a POW of the losing side is still imprisoned with the enemy, they are to be automatically released and stripped of all military priveledge. They can only be sold as slaves, tortured or killed while the war is going on. If a POW is executed he will remain dead for the rest of the war only able to be resurrected at the end of the war no matter which side wins.
