The Amsterdam Cafe

I really do not know what this cafe is known for -- probably nothing (nothing that I have heard of, at least). In any event, we the SIPA folks always hangout here, for it is really barely a block away from our school.

On this particular day, when the photographs were taken, we actually planned to hang out at a dance event ogarnized by some club. Rather idiotically -- forgive me for the word, but there's no other explanation -- the organizers decided not to order alcohol.

Hmm... The party was a flop of course. So, there we were, at the Am-Cafe going nuts.

The mean looking fellow is Kishan Nair, who was a Deputy Secretary of Trade in India; he is seen trying to recapture his youth. There's Erika over there, in both photos -- a great friend she is. There is also Eric Dins whom you'd meet elsewhere, too.
