Dhool..! Posted by: Nirujan Date: 09/26/02
Vikram is the hottest property in Tamil industry after Rajini and Kamal. The
mere fact that Vikram had acted in a film is enough for the distributor to buy
it and for the audience to watch it.
So, with these expectations, Vikram's current films are 'King', 'Adhisayam'
and 'Dhool'. Of these, 'King' is almost ready. The director of 'Mugavari',
Durai, is the director of 'Adhisayam'. The film is facing more than its share
of troubles and is limping towards the finishing line for more than two years.
Still, the makers of the film haven't fixed a release date.
Vikram- director Tharan- cinematographers Gopinath, the winning combination
of 'Dhil' reunite to make 'Dhool'. The film is scheduled for a Diwalio
release. So, shooting is on around the clock.
Nobody is breathing a word about the story of the film. Vikram plays a
village lad. Jyothika plays a village belle. Reema Sen plays a city girl. "'Dhil'
was an action thriller, but 'Dhool' is a fun film," says director Tharani.
Director Thrani is physically handicapped. In spite of his handicap, he is
the most active person on the sets of the film. He is a perfectionist who
doesn't believe in compromising on quality or the performance of the artists.
So, most of the time, he is like a steam engine ready to explode. It is his
Loyola College mate and friend, Vikram who cools him down.
We are now taking you to Peters Road where the film's shooting is on.
School kids from the passing by autos recognize the leading stars of the film,
Vikram and Jyothika, and wave to them. Jyothika has become half of what she
was before. Her face has changed a bit, but physically, she is the same girl
who stole our hearts in 'Vaali'. Each passing day brings in new competition
from new actresses. Finally, Jyothika has decided to give them a good
competition by doing something about her weight. Now, that's what we call
'tough fight'. |
