About Me

Hi, My name is Tammi and I am from Sioux Falls, SD.  I have lived here my whole life (just over 30 years now) and am ready to run around and see the country for a while!  I have been making jewelry for about 12 years or so...  I did make some stuff before that, but not a lot or by any serious means.

I work as a Technical Service Specialist/ Technical Trainer for a major bank as a full time job and to make the house payment.  I also work part time at a little pet store, I have been working at the pet store for over 5 1/2 years now.  Of course I also make and sell my jewelry locally to different records and variety shops, etc.

I absolutely love critters, specifically the reptile persuasion.  I currently have captive breeding projects going on with bearded dragons, leopard geckos, box turtles, and russian tortoises.  I hope that I will someday have babies from all of these critters so that they are not taken from the wild for the pet trade.  Conservation of wildlife on our planet is something that I very much support.  I also have a few rats, a finch, a hedgehog, a bunny, and a few other reptiles that are pets such as frogs, a ball pythons, and painted turtles.  Oh yeah, and don't forget all the fish tanks. If you are bored you can visit my reptile and amphibian website as well, Herpin' Gypsy.

I enjoy spending time with my friends as well.  We all like movies, music, playing outside (camping, fishing, singing around the bonfires), hanging out at the coffee house, or sometimes even cooking for each other.   We all enjoy catching the live music acts that manage their way across SD or other places near by.  I went to visit some of my friends in South Padre Island, TX this last spring as well, what a great place!  I love the beach and I love the ocean. I hope to someday go back to the Gulf of Mexico and pursue a career that involves the conservation of sea turtles.

I also love music, local music, live music, collecting CD's of bands I hear and fall in love with. Last year I was lucky enough to attend the SXSW music festival in Austin TX, what a blast! I enjoy many types of music, anything from really old country to some of the stuff of today, just about anything except that Rap music (I just don't get it!). Next year I plan on making it to the Kerrville Folk Festival in Kerrville, TX.

I hope that if everything goes as planned I will get to head out on the road with my boyfriend, Jon, to festivals this coming spring or summer (2002). Climb aboard the bus and just head out for a while. I hope that I will be able to vend my jewelry and tye dyes at some of the festivals and shows, and hopefully make a bit of a living at it!  I am also in the process of learning to sew, Jon got me a sewing machine (his) and I am trying to learn to sew the cool patchy type clothes all my wonderful kynd crafter friends can create so beautifully!  If we are really lucky Jon will be able to find a guest spot at a tattoo shop in some of the areas we visit.  If you would like to see some of the stuff Jon does, you can click here to visit his web site, Nomadic Notions.

Ok, well I have started to go stir crazy for spring to hit and for our road trip to begin!  So, I made a little page to ease my mind!   Here are some wonderful pictures of the sun, surf, and sand on South Padre Island.  I am just dying to get there!!!  Click HERE to see them!

You can contact me via e-mail at tammlynn@yahoo.com or via snail mail at Gypsy Jewelry, 515 W. 16th Street, Sioux Falls, SD 57104.  I look forward to hearing from you for any reason at all!  Love and peace!  ~Tammi
