| Welcome to the Vampire Princess Miyu area of Anime Scoop.
In this area I want to explain to you as much as I know about the Miyu
series. For starters there are two Miyu series. One is the TV episodes,
which there are 26 of and the other is a 4 tape series. This series was
made by Narumi
Kakinouchi.
Hmmm... where to begin? Well I guess I'll start with the pros and cons of the series. The pro's are that it has incredible artwork, very interesting soundtrack, and sometimes a good plot begins to brew. The con's are that its kind of like Sailor Moon in the sense that every episodes deals with a different bad guy(shinma) and Miyu ultimately defeats him/her. So the episodes do get a little redundant. Also I noticed that the TV series leaves a bad taste in my mouth with its ending. I mean what about Reiha. Did she drop off the face of the planet or what? Does Miyu ever get her? Hmmmm.....if anyone who is a big Miyu fan and knows the answers let me know :) Anyway overall this anime is good. I recommend watching it if you haven't already. The OVA's was like watching a completely different anime. They did not follow the original story line of the TV series and didn't really answer any additional questions. But, it did introduce a new character or two and put a new spin on Miyu and Larva's relationship. |
