Interesting fact: Rain's main weapon, the Sword of Glory, was gifted to him from powerful Demi-Gods, the main source of its power a single white crystal placed into the hilt that was called the "Stone of Honour". When Rain absorbed the Sword of Glory, instead of absorbing the stone as well he used it as the heart of the Bain of Humanity (read below). Thus, the bond that connected them was unbreakable till death. However when Sky was born, the reason that the Stone was not returned to him (though it was around) was because if he touched it without a stronger magic to counter the effect, Sky would Transform back into the Sword and his mind trapped within its metal forever. After Glados died, the Sword of Glory was seperated from Sky and he was able to wield it safely as well as the Stone of Honour. (note, in later years the Stone and Sword fused together to form a new weapon - Heaven's Grace)
Character Information:
Rain was the High Mage for Edle for several years, preceding a lengthy career of adventuring and heroics alongside the King and Queen of Edle and their band of companions. Also an Edle Warrior and fully trained Knight, Rain was a strong fighter and in every sense the People's Hero, rushing to the scene whenever there was a battle to be fought or a war to be one for the side of Light and good. However this didn't last for long as the years wore away at him, and eventually the once good semaritan turned to the side of the Demonic creatures that lived beneath the surface of the land. Employing an army of demons that he himself created through a gigantic tree known as the Bain of Humanity, Rain became a powerful general and waged war on his previous homeland of Edle. In the midst of battle Rain was released from the grasp of the Demon's power by Kitta and her Edle powers, but there was no way for him to undo the army or destroy the tree as it was linked with him. To create it he sacrificed the power of his sacred Stone of Honor, and thus there was a bond that existed between him and the Bain of Humanity. Transporting Kitta and her men to a place of safety, Rain went to the tree where he self-destructed, killing both himself and the tree. Following close to moments later, Sky was born in the form of a small baby. The reincarnation of Rain as well as the Sword of Glory taken human form, Sky was given life by the Angel Endymion, who was Rain's Protecting Angel. In a very real sense, the part of Rain that was Sky was the one part of him that was still pure and unpoluted by the dark energy that consumed almost completely. Because Rain absorbed into himself his Sword of Glory - a weapon of Holy Power - he was able to gain the strength he required, but at the same time the Sword protected parts of his mind and spirit from his Demonic lords.
Sky grew up a mostly normal life, with his protector Nataku teaching and guiding him since birth, and his foster parents Kitta and Uthra teaching him how to live once more in the world. Sky had very few memories of his past incarnation, yet enough to realize he was different. About the age of 12 after returning from a Mages School to learn his innate and powerful magical abilities at an early start, Sky and Sylchiel performed a ritual to summon the spirit of an ancient world, named Glados. In this ritual they gathered together all of the Clones of Rain created from the Contagion Project, and in body and spirit all Nine became fused into one, and into that one body another spirit entered and took control. Sky, along with the others, lay sleeping in the back of Glados's mind for quite a long time, dormant and resting till the time they would enter the world again. After Glados's second death within another dimension that he had trapped Kitta and Uthra within, the spirits of Sky, Sylchiel and the clones were released. Once more in the form of his 12 year old self, Sky guided Uthra and Kitta back out of the dimension once more safely, returning them to Edle. Later Sky rose to become a full Edle Warrior, and later once Sylchiel reappeared, he gained the Power of an Edle Hero.
Fighting alongside his family and Sylchiel for a number of years for the protection of Edle and the neighboring realms till his late teens, Sky finally crossed over into Earth where he lived the rest of his life, being something he always wished he could be - a normal human being.
Role-player's Comments:
While Rain was always a comic relief (in the earlier days that is), Sky was very different for me to begin playing after the demise of Rain who I roleplayed for actually quite a long time. It was very emotional time for a lot of the other roleplayers involved, including myself, especially since when Sky was born because I Roleplayed him as a small baby first. Let me tell you - crawling around with nothing to say or do except the occasional immense burst of magical energy, can be boring! Luckily, through the wonders of time-bending, Sky did not stay this way and soon became a rebelious, adventurous, magical youth who always got in trouble. =D *sighs happily*
Where Rain became bogged down and poluted by the darkness he faced and fighted, Sky was more or less a symbol of the rebirth into innocence and purity. Perhaps the rebirth that at one time or another, we all yearn for as well. Rain himself I remember I had a lot of fun and laughs playing, since he was a very comical character. Definately a hero, one of the things I loved most about him was his insatiable appetite and love for FOOD! Chip off the old block, I always say. ;)
