Fundamental techniques

This course of workshops is aimed at all levels and will improve precision, balance & posture and musicality.
Beginners/improvers - those participants who are striving to move freely around a busy dance floor using simple but effective techniques and sensitive style.
We welcome beginners who have either become familiar with tango through workshops and milongas, or are accomplished dancers in other styles with a strong desire to tango.
For the improver this course offers a reflection on style. It is essential that the improver is confident in all aspects of the dance at this level before moving on to advanced instruction.
For the advanced participants it enables a comparison of teaching styles and offers a reminder of the problems and insight into the solutions offered by instructors. This could be of great value to the advanced participant who wishes to give instruction.
Improvers/Intermediate

Improvers - participants are capable of navigating the dance floor and of executing a range of walking, ochos and turns confidently. There is still a requirement to learn steps by copying step-by-step guidance given by the instructors. This course is designed to improve technique and repertoire and enhance the participants understanding of rhythm and sensitivity through music and the embrace.
Intermediate - participants are familiar with all the basic tango steps (walking, ochos, turns, barridas, boleos, sacadas, ganchos) and are starting to improvise their dance, concentrating on musicality and connection with their partner. They are capable of understanding steps by watching and then working them out with their partner, requiring only the finer details to be explained by the teacher.
