This is a new section of my site. In the past, I've never bothered with getting round to well, give my
2 cts worth on any favourite artiste of mine. They deserve some respect from me, so I shall just
devote some of my bandwidth to them. I'll try to feature a different artiste every MONTH... but
it's not guaranteed.
This month's musician of the moment will be Craig David. I first fell in love with Craig
David's music when I listened to his hit song, 'Walking Away'. At that time, I was still new to
R&B and vice versa, I didn't have a slightest clue what R&B was. Craig David was one of those
responsible for giving me an idea of what good R&B is.
"Walking Away" really blew me off my feet. The instrumental accompaniment, coupled with Craig David's
smooth vocals made me connect with the song. Somehow, there was something about the song, (which
till this day, I can't quite put my finger on) that made me feel comfortable and good. Later on,
I listened to more of his songs, namely, '7 days', 'Rendezvous', 'Hidden Agenda', 'Whats Your Flava',
'Rise and Fall' and 'Fill me In'. I'm still very much fascinated by his songs. I love them. They're
slick, smooth, and okay, maybe some are a tad bit raunchy (listen to the lyrics) but other than that,
I'm comfortable.
You should really check out his official site, craigdavid.com,
which not only keeps you up to date on his recent performances, and released singles and albums, it also
provides you with interviews, which will tell you a lot about the man behind these slick R&B numbers.
It's not blatant and in-your-face, read deep into the interviews and you'll find out more about him.
I think he's a very principled guy, and of course, he respects what he's doing, and loves it.
That's another factor as to why I like Craig David's songs.
