__________________________________to the websling snap of her neck

but the way you tell it
that night on the Brooklyn Bridge
_______(or was it the George Washington
_______ it changes with each telling)
how must that have felt
humanity humming beneath you
and a choice
______a choice and a split second
____________there's no archetype for that
____________it's just you on a bridge
____________and her falling
____________and my telling over
________________________and over.


maybe it's okay -
maybe you are blameless
______if truth is in the intention
______and not the action
______or even the end result
you meant to save her
maybe that's enough
