My opinions on Website building! Welcome, I wrote everything on this site myself, but if you would like to use something please link back to me and give credit where credit is due.... Now to the main point I see so many sights that are almost exact replicas of each other. Seeing the same pictures and material can get to be boring. I support creativity. I love visiting a site that sticks out from the rest... It makes me think that somebody put a lot of time and work into their site instead of copying and pasting and saving and then uploading. Fresh material will bring visitors. I have been to so many anime sites that have the same profiles- or at least the same questions. I feel like I had already been there before. Another thing, I love when people make there own graphics, regardless of how lopsided or strange they may be. When you make something yourself there is a great feeling of self accomplishment, plus you won`t get people emailing you saying you took their work and they want to sue you. When you make something with your own mind you can be proud in it. I made this site because my last site was rather lacking, it too was one of the many other SailorMoon clone sites. Those come in the thousands. I had so many pictures and no text, it was terrible really. It was my first experience making a webpage so I decided to do what everyone else had done, now I realize that is wasting Geocities` webspace. I am planning on redoing the entire site, but not untill I have enough information. This site can be a gateway to my multiple others and I would like it too be popular in itself. Building webpages is a learning experience. The first one will never be the best site on the net, but you will get closer with every try. You have to think, what do I want to accomplish here? DO I want to take all the ideas from somebody else`s site and arrange it the way I want, or should I be original? In the end even if your site still sucks (which it probably won`t anyways) then I still give you credit for avoiding the temptation to cut and paste and stick your real thoughts and opinions on the web. But I don`t Have Any Information? If you think that gives you the right to take other people`s work then you are mistaken. If you don`t have the right informatio to make your site then don`t waste the space on the free servers and let someone who will really make use of it have a site. The free servers can`t remain free if everyone has an account or 2. When you plop something into the search engine how many sites do you have to go through before you find something worth looking at? I don`t want to have made one of the sites that people just brush on by. Bothersome Emails and Complaints The web is a rough place. People will always be there to say something bad or look down on your work. But if somebody does take the time to write to you and say that your site sucks then you know that you held their attention long enough to keep them at your site and read some information! That is a good sign. People don`t normally bother sites that are terrible... there are too many to even bother with. The people that take the time to complain must have came across a great site that deserves recognition. |
