The Thankyou Notice:

Burr, Tanya Jeanine – Tanya’s parents, Val Burr (PN) and Kelvin Williams (Hastings), her brother Kieran (PN), and her best friend Anita Bennett (Rotorua), wish to thank their families, friends and workmates for the considerable support and assistance received by us all following Tanya’s recent tragic death at Rotorua.

We especially thank the Rotorua Police, Victim Support, the various helpers at Poupatete Marae and Kelvin Grove Community Centre, the Adamson family of Mangamingi Station, Reporoa, and all those other people who in some way made this terrible experience endurable.

The many cards, letters, emails, messages and comments of sympathy from a diverse range of people and places, the baking and the flowers – many of these things received from throughout the world due to Tanya’s recent Norwegian and Contiki-European holiday – have been of considerable comfort to us. Due to the number of these, please accept this message as a personal acknowledgement from us.

Finally, we would also like to publicly thank Carol of the Rotorua SPCA and the Rotorua locksmith (name unknown) for their emergency help with Tanya’s beloved cats, Phoebe and Puffball. They are now safe and happy in PN, and the normally laid-back Puffball is recovering from his unusual panic attacks.

(The Thankyou Notice was published in various papers on Wednesday, 16 October 2002. The fourth paragraph only went in Rotorua's 'Daily Post'.)
