Memorial To Tanya Burr, 1981-2002
Notices
There was an article on Tanya in the NZ Women's Weekly - the issue dated 8 Sept. 2003, but released 1 Sept. 2003 - pages 20-21 - see here
There was an article in the NZ Listener dated 26 June-2 July 2004 (pp. 28-30 - see here) on the Lundy murders in 2000, in Kelvin Grove less than a kilometre from our home. I was interviewed in the course of researching it, and similarities to the way Tanya died - i.e. home invasion by a complete stranger - are suggested as a possible alternative scenario to the deaths of Christine and Amber Lundy than at the hands of husband and father, Mark Lundy. One correction to the story though is that I formerly worked (for about 18 months in the early 1970s) with Christine's sister-in-law Caryl (who was also interviewed), and not with Christine herself - although I knew Christine slightly in the last two years of her life.
A parole hearing in about nine years time - hopefully an unsuccessful one.
