Course Objective: This is a methodological and interactive course. Students will be able to solve comprehensive problems in general physics II. This course covers chapter 16-30 of the textbook.

 

Prerequisite: Physics 100B/concurrently-taking 100B. Students should also have mathematical competency equivalent to the mathematical review in Appendix A and B of the textbook.

  1. There will be homework assigned for each chapter; the homework will not be collected. The homework is selected from the problems following each chapter in the textbook. It is recommended that the students review the relevant sections before the class meeting. It is also advisable to answer the conceptual questions in the textbook before doing the assigned problems. The answers to the homework will be posted on the web site.
  2. There are recitation of concepts and problem solving at the class meetings.
  3. The students are encouraged to use Internet for assistance.
  4. This is a credit and non-credit course, however the students will be evaluated according to their performances during the semester.
