Writers' Guidelines

All poets with SI-related material are invited to submit their work to Tapestry of Pain. The procedure for doing so is very easy, and there are few rules.

  • Tapestry of Pain does not practise censorship of the work on these pages. "Bad language", sexual imagery, and discussion of SI and abuse (sexual, verbal or physical) are all acceptable submissions. Certain poems may be prefaced with a warning to readers (most especially any poems dealing with child abuse or graphic description of rape), but can be presented here. Poems which "glorify" SI are also acceptable.

  • Poems remain the property of their authors, and may be republished at the authors' own discretion. You may cite their first publication in this e-zine on your resume if you wish.

  • If your poem/s are published, you may provide a biography, contact email address and/or URL to be placed on the same page as your poem/s. A small photograph of you may also accompany your poem. I will use my discretion in deciding whether or not to use any URL you provide.

  • You should provide a date of compositin of your poem, although if you do not have one then the date of receipt will be used.

  • You can use a pseudonymn on your poem if you want. I fully appreciate that many SI-ers are not "out" about their suffering, and so pseudonymous poems are acceptable.

  • If you wish to submit a review, essay or piece of artwork, they will be judged individually as they are not the primary focus of this 'zine.
