What is Visual Database?

Multipurpose Visual Database is a program for assisting you to solve a small practical tasks constantly arising at the work and at the home.

The basic object of the program is a frame - small window containing the text editor.

The procedure of creation of a frame by the user is simplified up to a limit. For creation a new frame it is enough to press the left button of the mouse on a free place of the screen and to pull the mouse to the right - downwards.

After leaving the mouse button on the screen will appear the empty frame ready to work. The small fragment of the text can be stored in each frame. Each frame has functionality of a standard window - it has caption, it can be removed / closed/opened or displaced to any place of the screen.

After creation of a number of frames in a working window of the application and accommodation them in the necessary sequence you can keep result of your work in a file on a disk. Thus are kept both positions of separate frames and their textual contents.

The removal of a frame is also carried out rather simply. You move a frame on an icon Garbage by mouse and all further operations the program will execute automatically.

If you do not want that any frame should be seen you can move it by mouse on an icon Storage. The frame will disappear from the screen but will be kept in a database. At any moment by twice clicking on an icon Storage you receive access to the latent frames and can restore them on the screen.

The program supports some additional service functions.

You can set a pure color or texture as a background of working space.

Besides you can load in working area picture in such format as .bmp, .wmf, .jpg, .gif etc.

The size of picture and its position can be easily changed. The presence of picture or diagram in the working space is sometimes useful for concentration of attention on a soluble problem.

Each frame contains the text editor supporting exchange of the data through Clipboard or by Drag&Drop.

By twice clicking on the caption of a frame, you can change the name of a frame and background color of caption area. It is convenient to use multi-colored headings of frames for the decision of tasks connected with classification of textual fragments.

In section Examples are given many examples of use of the program for the decision of concrete practical tasks.

Examples.

2.1. Standard phrases for business letters

When you are writing business letters in English there can be useful a set of standard phrases especialy for the people for which the English language is not the native language. The sample file "Standard_Phrases_For_Letters.vdb" is included into a delivery set of the program.

Having loaded this file, you receive on the screen something similar to this:

At writing up of your business letter you use these standard phrases by draging and droping them in the text of your letter. Becouse the editor of a frame does not support the text formatting for final preparation of the text you should transfer it to any text editor for example Word.

2.2. Preparation of article

By preparation of article on the certain theme you accumulate a notes in separate frames.

2.3. Filling of the forms in the Internet

Frequently there is a necessity of filling of the forms for the Internet by your personal data: e-mail, name, address etc. These data is possible to keep in frames in a separate file and to transfer to editing windows of Internet Explorer by Drag&Drop or through a Clipboard.

2.4. Warehouse

If you have a small warehouse this program can help you to remember a storage place of the certain goods. For each rack is created the frame containing the name of a rack and its characteristics. At arrival of the new good you create a frame in which you write characteristics of your good and move a frame-good to a frame-rack. If the good leave the warehouse, you delete the frame-good or send it in a Storage to accumulate the information about the left goods.

2.5. Parking of cars

The program can be used for registration of cars on small parking. A number of frames previously is created, each of which represents separate parking. At arrival of the car on parking the new frame is created where the data on the car and arrival time are brought in. Further this frame moves on free frame-parking. When the car leaves from parking the departure time is brought in to a frame appropriate to this car and the frame-car is sent in a Storage.

2.6. Planning the performance of works

If necessary to plan performance of a number of works by several of your employees you create some frames-works and some frames-employees. Then you can move these frames and try to choose optimum variant of assignment of the employees for performance of the project. Very frequently decision of this task not simple and needs to combine through variants. With such cases this program can help you to solve this task.

2.7. Staff department

The frames-vacancy and frames-employees are entered. The frames-employees move on frame-vacancy and you receive a very evident picture what is a situation with the staff.

2.8. Patterns of a program code

If you are a programmer this program can be rather useful to storage a small fragments of the programs, macros, functions, patterns etc. Gradually this base will replenish and will render you the invaluable help at a writing of the programs having relieved you from necessity to rummage in the old program texts, magazines, books to find the code used by you earlier.

You must remember: author is not responsible for any damage of your system or your data, even if this damage is the result of the incorrect work of the program.
