When I rented this movie the first time, I was looking for a cool video about vampire hunting. While Vampire Hunter D does give you that, there's not a lot of it. This movie stands the test of time as proof of what a plot hole is.
The "classic" plot hole scene involves the castle collapse. The castle is shown rapidly collapsing in one scene, obviously not a lot of time to escape, and then the very next scene shows our heroes well clear of the castle, and it has not even really started to collapse.
Other than some glaring inconsistencies, the film is pretty well done. It gets a 2.5 of 5.
