THE PLANET
Namuh is a lone class M planet located in the Los-Ar'ret binary star system. The primary star, Los, is a middle-aged yellow star. A second white dwarf star, Ar'ret accompanies Los 90 AUs from Namuh. Namuh is approximately 807,932 kilometers in diameter, and the only planet in the Niddia system containing sentient life. The population of Namuh is 9 billion, not including other humanoid life.

Namuh is 60% water, 20% dry land, and 20% heavy marsh. This swampy world is home to many different forms of life, although only one form, the Namuh, are sentient. The scattered marsh and water developments on Namuh were the result of a large meteor shower which passed through the Los-Ar'ret system 10,000 Terran years ago, bombarding the planet and possibly destroying neighboring planets. As a result, many "cities" and "polis'" are separated by these watery geographic obstacles, although the establishment of a sporadically organized global community eliminates the need of the hierarchical infrastructure so popular with these types of planets. ORIGINS
Approximately 10,000 Terran years ago a "lifeform boom" occurred on Namuh, spawning thousands of different forms of life as well as altering the planet's physical structure. No traces of life before this half-life of 10,000 years have been found, and it appears that the large meteor shower stopped by Namuh's orbit also introduced the formation of life on the planet.
To this day there are over 47,359 different species of life, several humanoid. Only the species which the name of it's planet, Namuh, are fully sentient. Prehistoric Namuh do not appear to very different from present day specimens, although other humanoid and non-humanoid lifeforms near the same age of Namuh lifeforms have evolved their physical bodies to the near of atrophy, their brain sizes and/or hunting techniques remain relatively unchanged from that of aeons ago.
Namuh language is not hierarchically based, and the use of translation equipment such as universal translators or linguistic decryption devices to decipher Namuh have been fruitless. In addition, the Namuh government refuses to release the full language database to Federation linguists for the safety of maintaining cultural uniqueness and identity.

SPECIES ATTRIBUTES
Both female and male Namuhs stand upright and have arms and one head like most humanoids. Namuhs stand and average height of 6 Terran feet. Bodies come in several shades of green that change color to reflect emotion-especially in the uppermost or anterior part of the body. Namuhs have no facial or bodily hair, contain vocal cords and breath oxygen and concentrated forms of hydrogen and/or nitrogen. In low light environments, the two large eyes illuminate bright yellow and provide warmth.
Namuh biology operates much like most humanoids; containing a four-chamber heart with high-toxicity filters behind one pair of lungs, a humanoid skeletal system, two stomachs digestive with two intestines. The circulation system relies heavily on the four chamber heart to process nutrients in the blood to the point of 96 beats/minute. Unlike many humanoid creatures Namuhs do not have their circulatory systems regulate intra-body temperature, as a photosynthetic affect over the skin allows warmth from light. Excretion systems however are reliant heavily on perspiration, and the popular Namuh term "A sweaty Namuh may not have been doing work" coins this distinctive part of their biology. Reproduction requires two Namuhs to engage in intercourse with the female carrying offspring for two Terran weeks but importing it to an external biological source, like a hard-shell egg, afterwards.
Offspring incubate in an egg-like structure which grows over a period of 6 Terran months, the last week being the final stage where the shell is completely hardened and able to be shattered. Many Namuhs give birth to twins, although triplets and solo births occasionally occur. Many Namuh children undergo a short period of growth where brains are developed. However, learning is not impaired through growth. A timeframe of 10 Terran years marks the completion of childhood, which ends with a remarkably fast rate of growth in two years. Namuhs live an average of 160 Terran years.

GOVERNMENT & HISTORY
Namuh government is a globally run, democratically-based system reliant on a highly intricate globally connected computer network. All issues are voiced through established nodes at living quarters or public places and are averaged into an oligarchy of categorized positions on issue. The highly cherished Namuh cultural foundation, "Gontan", translated from Namuh as "Repayment", serves as the planet's primary means of law enforcement. The cultural and sociological impact of the Order of Gontan, which was established 2 millennia ago but only recently made mainstream, has served as an effective means of maintaining domestic security since it's revision at the middle of the last century. Repayment is the practice of allowing the equal requital of an act, either friendly or not, on the perpetrator or assisting force (e.g. Namuh homicide is Repayed by the suicide of the criminal). Likewise, if a Namuh is saved from death or harm, an equally worthy act is required of the saved person). Large, Artificially Intelligence computer hubs located in every "city" maintain order, settle domestic disputes, and record Repayments and violations. These machines are called the 'Rep'bodimkra'taa", or, "Houses of Repayment." The use of these artificially intelligent machines were instituted after the Molodor-Namuh War of stardate 485403.10, and help insure an impermeable fairness in all political matters. There are 9,501 Houses of Repayment, one for each concentrated population center. All of them are connected unequivocally to a large, planetary network also responsible for extra-planetary communication.

Within the recent century, a small branch of Namuh rebels have arisen to minor power. The Molodors(translated from Namuh as "The Happy Ones"), are Namuh people who have revoked their allegiance to the Namuh and Federation government and do not observe either Federation Interstellar Law or Namuh Repayment. Little is known about the Molodor's culture and government, but they have been seen as working within Xen operations.

POLITICAL STATUS
Namuh is a fully fledged member of the Federation. Namuh maintains working, regular trade routes with the Federation and obeys the extradition of Federation criminals as well as it's Interstellar Law. However, there are very few Namuh Starfleet officers or Academy Graduates. Namuh maintains a seat in the Federation Council, and has an equal vote in all Council matters.

The Namuh are currently at peace but are in a small civil war with the Molodor and any aiding political organization. This includes the Xen Syndicate, Fenzian Order, and Sol Consortium.
