TEASER

EXT HALLIWELL HOUSE - ESTABLISHING

Morning dawns bright and cold in the San Francisco neighborhood.

A red JEEP drives slowly up and down the street, looking at the houses.

INT PHOEBE'S ROOM - CONTINUING

PHOEBE (27) rolls over in bed and bumps into COLE. She feels around with her hand, stopping as she feels his familiar face. She smiles and opens her eyes.

PHOEBE

Mmm. I'm glad you're back. You've been gone too long.

COLE

I couldn't let you go another morning. I've missed you, too.

But his eyes hold a different meaning. Phoebe looks into his eyes, but they quickly change back to warm feelings.

PHOEBE

Why were you gone so long?

COLE

I've got a surprise for you.

PHOEBE

Tell me, tell me, tell me.

COLE

You'll just have to be patient. I think I may have found a place for us. Somewhere the Source has no power.

Phoebe cocks her head in surprise.

PHOEBE

I thought you were wigged out on the idea of marriage. When you left -

COLE

I know. I've been thinking a lot about it. Maybe my wicked days are done.

PHOEBE

(pulling him close)

Not if I have anything to say about it.

INT ATTIC - SAME TIME

PIPER thumbs quickly through the Book of Shadows, stopping here and there to skim an entry.

LEO, her Whitelighter husband, knocks softly as he enters.

LEO

Hey beautiful. A little early to be studying, isn't it?

PIPER

(briefly smiles)

I couldn't sleep.

LEO

What about breakfast?

PIPER

Fix it yourself.

Leo touches her face gently.

LEO

I meant for you.

PIPER

I'm sorry. I'm just a little bit edgy. I've got a really weird vibe going on.

LEO

Vibe? Like how?

PIPER

Ever since last night, when we got that strange phone call ... I've just been getting the heebies.

Leo sits down on a bean bag chair.

PIPER

You can call me crazy, but I think that something is -

Piper doubles over as a sharp pain knifes through her abdomen.

LEO

Piper!

Piper collapses to the floor.

INT LIVING ROOM - SAME TIME

PAIGE (25) flips through a glamour magazine on the couch. She raises a finger, and the TV remote levitates up in the air and flips through the channels. She barely notices what's on TV.

The remote drops to the couch as the doorbell RINGS. The TV shows a terrible traffic accident. A close up on one of the cars shows a smear of RED PAINT on the hood.

Paige opens the door to see PIPPA (24). Long brown hair floats halfway down her back.

PAIGE

May I help you?

PIPPA

Hi. Is this the Halliwell Residence?

PAIGE

Yes it is. Are you looking for somebody?

PIPPA

Actually I am. Do you know a ...

(pulls out a slip of paper)

Prudence Halliwell?

Paige ushers Pippa into the living room and sits her down.

PIPPA

I've been meaning to ask her some questions for a long time. I just never got up the nerve until now.

PAIGE

How long have you been waiting?

PIPPA

Why?

PAIGE

Prudence Halliwell died four years ago.

INT PHOEBE'S ROOM - SAME TIME

Phoebe rubs Cole's shoulders as he tries to get up out of bed.

PHOEBE

No. It's not time yet.

COLE

I'll get breakfast.

PHOEBE

You're so sweet.

COLE

You sound so certain. Eggs?

PHOEBE

Two. And one toast. With just a dab of honey.

Phoebe snuggles up in the covers again.

PHOEBE

Don't be long.

COLE

Trust me.

He closes the door behind him.

PHOEBE

I love you Cole.

INT ATTIC - SAME TIME

Leo helps Piper into a chair. She waves him away.

PIPER

I'm okay. Just ... I'm fine. Fine. Just a sharp pain inside.

LEO

I didn't feel any demons.

PIPER

I don't think it's demons.

LEO

What is it, then?

Piper looks around, the answer clearly shining in her eyes. She puts her hand on her belly -

And the Book of Shadows violently opens to a previously blank page. The stand shudders with the force of the Book.

Leo reads what is written.

LEO

"Blood Sisters."

Piper winces as she slowly rises.

The fresh red "ink" drips down the page.

PIPER

That's blood.

LEO

I'll get the others.

PIPER

No. Wait.

Piper takes a drop of the blood on her finger. She tosses some ingredients in a bowl with her other hand.

PIPER

(continuing; casting a spell)

By this blood, unshed by human hands, wisdom of the Fates be guided to understand.

The drop falls off into the bowl. A huge EXPLOSION knocks both Piper and Leo backwards.

The cloud turns in on itself, then billows outward in darkness.

Out of the dark cloud steps PRUE. Her shimmering form glances backward into the darkness.

PIPER

Prue.

PRUE

Don't let me ... stop me. Let her die.

Dark hands rip through Prue's form, dragging her back into the darkness.

PIPER

Prue!

Piper reaches out to grab Prue's hand, but Leo pulls her back.

LEO

No. She's gone. She's gone, Piper.

Piper collapses sobbing into Leo's chest.

INT PHOEBE'S ROOM - CONTINUING

Phoebe jumps out of bed when she hears Piper's scream.

PHOEBE

Piper.

She runs up the stairs to the attic. Cole glances out from behind a corner as she runs the opposite direction.

INT LIVING ROOM - CONTINUING

Paige mutes the TV. Pippa barely glances at the piled up cars.

PIPPA

Bad accident, huh.

PAIGE

How do you know Prue?

PIPPA

Seven years ago, I was in an accident. Your sister saved my life.

PAIGE

She's not my ... wait a minute, seven years? But that's before -

PIPPA

Before what?

PAIGE

Never mind. Just that was a hard time for the family.

PIPPA

Prue gave me something very special. I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for her.

Piper's scream comes from upstairs. Paige starts to get up.

PIPPA

What was that?

PAIGE

I don't know.

Paige rises. So does Pippa.

PAIGE

No. You wait here. I'll be right back.

Paige starts up the stairs, but Cole stops her at the top.

COLE

Piper's fine. She just ... Leo surprised her.

PAIGE

She sounded scared.

COLE

She's fine.

On the couch, Pippa flips her hair, revealing a nasty "P-shaped" scar on her neck. She looks back at the front door.

From the top of the stairs, Cole only sees the back of Pippa's head.

COLE

Who's your friend?

Pippa stands when she hears Cole's voice, she looks up and smiles.

As Cole recognizes her face, he goes pale.

PIPPA

Hello, Belthazor.

COLE

Paige ... run.

Pippa lashes out with a blast of telekinetic force at Cole. He jumps over the bannister out of the way. The force blasts a hole in the wall.

Paige orbs (teleports) out of the living room.

INT KITCHEN - CONTINUING

Paige orbs into the kitchen. But Pippa is in the doorway, waiting.

As Paige becomes fully solid a kitchen KNIFE buries itself deep into her chest.

Paige gasps and falls to the floor. She tries to pull the knife out, but her hands don't even have the strength to grasp the hilt.

PIPPA

One.

Cole/Belthazor attacks Pippa from behind, knocking her into the counter. She whirls and throws Cole backwards across the living room.

COLE

You killed her.

PIPPA

That's the general idea. I thought you'd find it interesting. After all, the Source thinks very highly of you.

Pippa throws Cole all around the room, beating his demon form to a pulp. She sneers in his face.

PIPPA

Was she worth any of this ... Belthazor?

Cole rips up and tears the necklace from Pippa's neck. He howls as she hammers him point-blank with a blast of telekinetic energy.

INT ATTIC - SAME TIME

Phoebe picks Piper up off the floor. Leo looks around, startled.

LEO

Paige!

He orbs out.

INT KITCHEN - CONTINUING

Leo puts his healing hands over Paige. Frustrated tears fill his eyes as he finds no life at all in her body.

LEO

No. NO. NO!

Cole staggers to the door. His bruised and bloodied face cracks open as he tries to speak.

COLE

I ...

Phoebe and Piper appear in the doorway. One look from Leo is all they need.

PHOEBE

Oh no.

PIPER

Please tell me she isn't -

COLE

Dead.
