In the great battle with the Titans, Poseidon saved the Olympian gods from utter destruction. It was he who wounded Hyperion, allowing the Olympians to imprison the Titan inside a great stone. Easily manipulated by his wife, Amphitrite, he cast out his son, Pericles, from the seas forever.
