Takara-en: The Treasure Garden
It's a little bit quiet, a little bit out of the way, a little bit romantic ... and a lot wonderful.

Takara-en: The Treasure Garden, is under development -- and probably always will be. A Japanese teahouse is coming in the summer/fall of 2006, and it will be the perfect spot for your wedding, with tea or saki ceremonies available, performed by a certified minister who had practiced Buddhism for more than 30 years.

Come get married, or renew your vows, under the sublime spruces of Takara-en.

UPDATE: As of Nov. 2005, the rock/meditation garden is complete, and so is the
main cabin, which will be available for your honeymoon with a full kitchen,
jacuzzi bathtub and comfortable loft bedroom.

The goal is to build a genuine teahouse, such as the one depicted here, in which ceremonies can be conducted. For more information, call Takara-en at 218.283.8346 or email: TartanPony@yahoo.com.

Sacred rocks? Takara-en is three acres of trees, moss and wild blueberries covering several granite ridges. Area wildlife includes deer, martins, woodpeckers, bear, wolves and foxes.
Main cabin under construction.
Takara-En is on the Canadian, northern Minnesota border, a smooth stone's throw from Rainy Lake. We can arrange your wedding reception, a boat or carriage ride after the ceremony, and anything else necessary to creating your perfect day.
