The ball wasn't schedualed to be over until midnight or later, and it was rude to leave a charity event before it was over. So, instead of making all their chauffers stay out in the cars for all hours of the night, the group had got hotel rooms, since that was the easiest thing seeing as that the ball was in a hotel. But by ten, everyone was bored out of their minds. "Anyone else bored?" Hannah asked, looking up from the tower of tooth picks she and Tara Anna were building. "No, we're all enjoying this." Howie said sarcastically. "Yeah, best night of my life." Christy chimed in. Aimee looked out at the dance floor. "Well, atleast they're enjoying theirselves." She said, pointing to Brian and Leighanne, who were wrapped in each others arms and dancing slowly. "Okay, let's do something." AJ said, looking around the ball room. "Like what? There's really not a lot to do." Howie pointed out. Aimee grinned. "Ooh, I've got an idea! Let's play Truth or Dare." "Oh, God. No." Kevin moaned. "We are not thirteen year old girls." Nick laughed. "No, come on. It might be fun." He shrugged. "There's not a whole lot of other things to do here." Aimee clapped her hands. "Goody! Okay, I'll start. Um. . . Nick. Truth or Dare?" Nick eyed her for a minute, wondering what evil thoughts she was hidind behind her ocean blue eyes. "Uh, dare. I guess." "Oooh." The girls chorused. Aimee leaned closer to Tara Anna, Hannah, and Christy, and whispered something that made them all laugh. "Okay, Nick. We dare you to go over to that table-" she pointed to the table that 'N Sync was gathered around, "and ask Justin for his autograph." Nick's face turned white, and he choked on the peanut he was eating. "What? I can't!" AJ laughed. "Oh, yes you can. Go on over there." Nick started at his friends, waiting for someone to tell him that he didn't have to do it, but everyone was staring back at him. "Come on, you're the one who was so excited to play." Kevin reminded him. The girls all laughed. Nick groaned, and stood up. "You're all paying for this." He snapped, stomping over to the table. It was out of hearing range, but everyone watched as he approached Justin, and asked him something with a bright red face. Justin looked at him for a minute, then quickly wrote something on a napkin, and shoved it at Nick, still giving him the same confused look. Table 5 burst into laughter. Nick stomped back to them. He slapped the napkin down on the table, and collapsed in his chair, his arms crossed over his chest. "Happy?" He asked sullenly. Aimee took the napkin, read it, and laughed even harder. When she had calmed down at little, she read aloud. "To Nick. From your idol, Justin Timberlake." The group collapsed in a fresh round of laughter. From his table, Justin and the rest of the members of his group watched Nick's table. "Dude, was that all some kind of joke?" Justin asked. "I thought he was just drunk. I bet he's going to show that autograph to all the press here, and they're all going to write some dumb story about it. Sarcasm doesn't print well, you know." They all watched as Nick leaned a little closer to a blond girl in a striking green dress, and put his hand on her thigh. Justin smiled. "I've got an idea." He stood up, and walked over. Everyone stopped what they were doing, and looked up at him. Nick pulled his hand off her thigh as fast as he could. Justin noticed. He smiled. "Hey." He said, winking at Aimee. "Nice party, huh?" He laughed a little. Aimee smiled back. That was the encouragement he was looking for. "Hey, do you wanna dance?" He asked. She looked at Nick, then looked away quickly. "Um, sure." She sounded hesitant, but it wasn't like Justin had expected her to jump all over him. He took her hand, and led her on to the dance floor. He was holding her so close to him, Nick was wondering whether or not she could even breath. "So, you and Nick?" Justin asked. Aimee shook her head. "No." She assured him, but her voice sounded shaky and unsure. "Good." Justin looked over at her table to make sure Nick was watching them. When he'd confirmed that he was, he leaned down, and planted his lips over Aimee's. Nick dropped the glass he was holding. Brian stopped dancing in the middle of a step. Leighanne looked up at him, and shook his arm, trying to get his attention off Aimee and Justin. The members of 'N Sync took one look at Nick, and burst out laughing. Aimee pulled away, and stared at him in shock. "What was that?" She asked, her voice shaking. Justin just grinned at her, and moved out of the position they were dancing in. "Say hi to Nick for me." He said, then walked back to his table. |
