Full moon shining brightly
a beacon
in the black of night
a thousand stars
diamonds on black velvet

Her hair, a halo
shining nimbus
around her head
as each footstep
brought her closer

From the shadows
he crept
creature of the night
harbinger of death
watching her

Closer and past
her scent carried to him
on black winds of night
heat and life and blood
...he followed

Such torture this
the promise
of a heated kiss
another step, then still
...he struck

Hands curled 'round her shoulders
drawing her close
within the depths
of a cold dank alley
water drips

He held her gaze
sapphire trapped by emerald
tinted with a ruby glow
her eyes slid shut
sweet surrender

Head tilted to the side
an open invitation
her pulse beneath his lips
one soft kiss
...he tasted

Dark and rich
it flowed into him
salty and sweet
brimming with emotion
...he feasted

Her heart slowed
dangerous pace
he drew back
one drop to erase his mark
one sweet kiss to her lips

In the mouth of the alley
they found her
a broken doll
seemingly asleep
in the cold gray light of dawn
with a soft smile on her lips
