On March 26, 2005 I marched for Peace.  All else was put  aside for 8 hours while nearly a million people proclaimed their support for peace. In a country where many people claim, "Money is our God" they sneered at street vendors who would capitalize on this event.

I've spent the best 20 years of my life here in Taiwan, in 5 different cities. I've raised 2 children here. The people of Taiwan have given me some of the best years of my life. As a teacher and trader I've participated in the development of a backwater banana republic into a technological leader, the best example of democracy and the most egalitarian society in Asia, in just 1 generation.

The people of Taiwan have earned their Peace.

They deserve to decide their fate in an atmosphere of peace, free from intimidations, harassment and tyranny.

These photos are from the 8th route, Roosevelt Road. It was my honor to march with them, for Peace.
