The bouldering at Elderslie is on sandstone boulders and is quite good. It was originally discovered by Stu Bowling early 2001 and after many trips now has about 50 problems |
To get there drive up the Midlands Highway from Hobart, and just this side of Brighton turn left along the road to Elderslie. Take the first right out of elderslie and then after about a kilometre you will come to a y intersection turn right here, you will go up a a rise and then the road will go down again, at the bottom of this hill on the left is the fire trail you walk up to get to slug rock, drive another 200m or so along the flat and on the right is the pullover to get to the Block and Forbidden forest areas. |

Park at the pullover on the side of the road and walk along the road for about 50m, there is a slight track up to the left. The block, (with problems 1-6 on it) sits on its own and is distinctive in that all the bracken around it has been trampled |
