LungNet Information Exchange 1999

A statewide seminar was held on the 14th of October 1999. Groups from the North West and South travelled on buses to the seminar which was held in the Inveresk Railyards Reception Centre. The event was supported by The ALF, OxyCare and VP MicroTech. The speakers were:

MC - John Bruce (The ALF)

Panic Attacks and How To Cope - Helen Bindoff (Clinical Psychologist)

How To Use and Enjoy the Internet - Richard Shelton (VP MicroTech)

Travelling with Oxygen - James Markos (Medical),
Andrew Paynter (BOC Gases),
Lionel Rose (Southern Australia Airlines)

Thanks go to the Ladies who catered for the event and all those who worked hard to bring the event to you. Photos of the event can be seen on the next page.

After the discussion with Southern Airlines during the event the Airline is now allowing passengers to carry oxygen in the same way as the other airlines without any extra cost to the passenger provided approved carry bags are used.

LungNet Information Exchange 2000

 

Another Seminar is planned for October the 19th 2000 in the Inveresk Railyards Reception Centre. At this stage we are still considering topics and any group with a topic they would like to hear about should contact John Bruce on 6393 7217. Do not worry if you don’t have a speaker or information on the topic - we will find it.

Hospice Carers - what can they do?

The Australian Lung Foundation is providing the venue and there will be a $5 a head charge to cover a BBQ lunch. Bring your name tag with you. RSVP to your group secretary who must give numbers to Kathleen Burgess at the Launceston General Hospital via the switchboard on 63487111.by the 1st of October.
