didn't until we arrived at Beauty Point. If I say so myself it was a lovely, relaxing day. Thank you so much to Peter and Joanne for their help plus the lovely morning tea/coffee we had at Brady's Lookout. Then following the Tamar River from Gravelly Beach along through Deviot, Swan Bay and on through lovely countryside until we reached Beaconsfield. We then travelled on the Inspection Head, Illfraville and back to Tamar Cove Restaurant where we were welcomed by Stefan. The dining room was beautifully set up and we all enjoyed a fabulous meal before boarding the bus for the trip home. We came over the Batman Bridge and called at the Hillwood Strawberry farm so some of us could have Strawberries and cream for afternoon tea. Needless to say some of us didn't need a meal that night! ! A big thank you to Stefan, Donna and Staff.
We have decided to have a few social afternoons with sports cards to raise a bit of money until the Bingo license has been sorted out. Thanks to Mr Jim Cox for his help. Janice Lanham has been to the Alfred Hospital to have a 'lung transplant' operation. Has had quite a few setbacks but is still battling them all. Nola Webb went over to have the new operation but it didn't go too well. She is now hoping she can go and have reduction. All the best Nola.
During the year we have financially helped patients/families going to Melbourne for surgery and Les Rick's daughter and two grandchildren to come home to see Les. Sadly he passed away a few days after they arrived home. Also passed away during the year was our dear friend Margaret Millwood, and Richard Sieath who was a new member to the group.
There has also been a lot of our members not very well and some have been in hospital. We hope and pray they are all feeling better now.
In closing I would like to sincerely thank Ruth for all her help in organizing our meeting and Bingo times and room, also for her photocopying. She is a real gem and nothing is too much trouble for her. Thelma, Graeme and Bronwyn for cards, letter, flowers, etc. To Joy and Hec for bingo prizes and afternoon teas, Betty, and Marianne for being our hostesses and helping with afternoon tea. Laurie for being my sounding board. Last, but not least, every member for being there for each other.
I would also like to thank our 'Sponsors" :-RACT - Scooter insurance., McDermott's Coaches - Bus Trips, Tamar Cove Restaurants - meals, Casino - raffle prizes, BP Tas Fuel - raffle prizes, Riverside Hotel - meals / raffle prizes, May Youl raffle prize, Ros and Michael Baylis - Point of Sale signs for our raffle.
