Let’s Laugh
WILL YOU BE MY FRIEND?
Sandy began a job as an elementary school counsellor and was eager to help the students. One day during recess, she noticed a girl standing by herself on one side of a playing field while the rest of the kids enjoyed a game of soccer at the other.
Sandy approached and asked the girl if she was all right. The girl said she was.
A little while later, however, Sandy noticed that the girl was in the same spot, still by herself. Approaching again, Sandy offered, "Would you like me to be your friend?"
The girl hesitated, then said, "Okay," looking at the woman suspiciously.
Feeling that she was making progress, Sandy then asked, "Why are you standing here all alone?"
"Because," the little girl said with great exasperation, "I'm the goalie!"
Burnie 10 km Fundraiser 13 Oct 2002
Congratulations to John Cock for raising $1500 with the help of Wendy Chatwin & the LIPS group. John is harnessing his new-found energy since swapping his oxygen bottle for a new lung! He walked the 10km of the Burnie road race on a cold & wet day when most people preferred to stay indoors. John has donated half of the funds to the ALF and half to the Alfred Hospital. Well done, John & friends. Keep up those big strides!
