Kylie is currently on the Australia leg of her 'On A Night Like This Tour', performing throughout April across the country, and making this the largest tour of Australia by a female artist EVER! A ninth date in Sydney has recently been added to the end of the tour, owing to the fact that the eighth date sold out within 2 hours of tickets going on sale. It has been rumoured that a tenth date may be added.
The tour showcases Kylie hits and album tracks spanning her 14 year singing career, details can be viewed on the 'On A Night Like This' tour page. For the Australian tour, Kylie is treating fans to an extra track, Did It Again (sometimes!). She has also changed the silver top, worn for Koochachoo and Put Yourself In My Place, with a similar styled red number.
Back in the UK, G.A.Y. club are featuring a Kylie V Madonna danceathon at the end of April, to pay respect to their favourite pop queens. G.A.Y. also proclaimed Kylie to be THE Queen of their club during the recent Channel 4 show 'Top Ten Pop Princesses', in which Kylie beat off competition from Kim Wilde, Kate Bush, Lulu, Sheena Easton, Britney Spears, Debbie Gibson, Tiffany and Sade to the No 1 spot!
Your Disco Needs You has this week entered the UK charts at 193, a result of import sales. The 2 German CD singles and Australian limited edition CD (which entered the Australian charts at No 20, not bad considering the release was limited to only 10,000 copies) can be bought in local HMV stores, or on their internet site.
Kylie's follow up album to Light Years is to be released before the year end, with a new single release expected in the summer. It has not been confirmed whether this track is likely to be the fantastic 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head', as performed on the tour, and available to download off Napster.
There will be no more single releases from Light Years in the UK. However, there are rumours that 'Butterfly' is to be released in the USA. A 12" promo is to be released to 'test the waters'. This strategy is consistent with that followed in the UK a year ago. The Light Years album release for the USA (not officially confirmed to be happening as yet) looks set to be a mixture of Light Years, and the forthcoming UK album release.
