DAVID'S EARRINGSDavid Collyer shared this pattern with me and I am now sharing it with you. This was to give an idea of what was to come in the book he plans on publishing soon. Thanks David. TATTED EARRING DESIGN - 20 March 1997 Designed for Maureen FRENCH of Clunes, Victoria, Australia This earring was made using Kreinik gold Japan Thread with gold glass Petite Beads, a gold glass Teardrop Bead, and 2 gold glass Bugle Beads. ![]() The “antenae” at the top of this earring represent the 2 ends at the commencement of the Split Ring which are later used to sew the earring onto a post. Abbreviations SR = Split Ring : = division between shuttles in Split Ring R = Ring MP = Mock Picot CR = Close Ring L- = Long Picot (long enough to hold a Bugle Bead) CH = Chain b = Seed Bead BB = Bugle Bead TB = Teardrop Bead DNT = Do Not Turn + = join Thread 14 Seed Beads on Shuttle 1 and 1 Teardrop Bead on Shuttle 2; have 2 Bugle Beads at hand ready for use. Helpful Hint: To thread Bugle Beads onto Long Picots, place a 6” (15cm) length of different coloured thread through the Long Picot, then thread both ends of this through the Bugle Bead. Now simply slide the Bugle Bead onto the long picot, which should just show through its end. Place a glass headed pin through this Long Picot while you do the second one. When the second one is ready, you can remove the pin to make the shuttle join, and cross your fingers that you get it right the first time or you’ll have to do it all again!!
