Ruth's Tatted Heart Pattern
Please do not duplicate without permission from Ruth
One shuttle only! (all rings facing the same way next to each other
with little or no space between them. They just naturally bend around &
take the shape of a heart.)
Slide three beads onto the thread of a shuttle wound with any size &
color thread. Beads should be just large enough to string on the
thread. The picots between rings are all very small ones. The three
picots in the center of the bottom ring are larger.
Ring1 (2 - 2 - 2)
Ring2 (2 + 3 - 2) Join to last picot of previous ring.
repeat ring2 three more times.
Slide a bead next to the ring just made.
Slide a bead onto the thread used to make this next ring: Ring (3 + 3)
Slide a bead next to the ring just made.
Ring (2 + 3 - 2) This one is the same as ring2 & it joins to the same
picot as the last ring did. There are three rings joined together here.
repeat ring2 three more times.
Ring (2 + 2 - 2)
repeat this ring once.
Ring (2 + 3 - - - 3 - 2) This is the point at the bottom of the heart.
Ring (2 + 2 + 2) This is the last ring. It is joined to the previous
ring and the first ring. It's a bit tricky to do the last join.
Tie ends together & finish.
I made this to wear as a pendant. I put three links of jewlery finding
chain onto the picot where three rings are all joined together at the
top, and a chain through the top link.
