The Nile River 

The Nile River flows north 4,145 miles long, From the mountains of central Africa to the Mediterranean sea .
The last 600 miles of the Nile is in Egypt. In Egypt the river cuts a narrow Green valley through the desert. Before reaching  the Mediterranean sea, The river cuts  to form a fan-shaped land of fertile land called "The  Delta".Ancient  Egyptains lived in the area. For long Egyptains were protected  from foreign invasions. Every year  about the middle of July the Nile over flows its banks. The flood stopped but left behind large amounts  of rich soil taht was good for growing crops.Egyptains planted their fields while the fertile was still wet. Egyptain farmers planted and raised Wheat, Barley, and Grapes .Egyptains used  Shadufs to lift water out of the Nile to where they dug there Basins or Bowl - Shaped holes near there crops.
