How it came to be!
By Erin Harrison AKA Forestwoman
The Taurëlëo path was invented in the year 2003. My name is Erin Forestwoman. I started out Wiccan in the 1980's as a teen and I left Wicca there too. I do think it's a great starting place for someone who is just beginning. I then went on to learn Druidism, Green Witchcraft, Hedge & Hearth witchcraft. I also studied some of the paths that were more balanced with light and dark magicks such as Gypsy, Voudoo, Santeria, LaVeyan style of Satanism and so forth. For many years, I called myself an eclectic Mutt Witch. So, a few years back, I posted a discussion question to the pagan church list that I run. I asked: " for those of you that are eclectic, for example, if you are an eclectic mix of Asatru, Voudon and Celtic, but not completely one or the other, if you could give your path a name , what would you name it? Would you call it the Wondering Path? Or what?" And so some folks thought about it. Some actually took the name "the wondering path" Very few took the time to give their actual paths names. So, I had to answer my own question and give my path a name. I wrote down everything that I was. I saw that it was balanced of both light and dark energies, used both high and low magicks, and happen to be very GREEN. My goddesses were all of the darker or woodland sort. And my gods were all nature / foresty types such as the Green Man, Pan, Herne, Cernnunos, etc. My old email address was forestwitch @ it's particular free email. I am a forest witch. I live in the piney forests of East Texas. I LOVE the forests and will always live here. My public craft name is Forestwoman. So obviously the word forest had to be in the title. I added shadow because I'm not white light and I'm not a black magickian , but instead, I use both and am balanced in both. Therefore I dwell in the dappled sunlight bouncing in the shadows of the forests. I'm just flat out neutral. So, I looked it up in Quenyan because I didn't have the Sindarin book yet. Taurë means forest and lëo means shadow. So there ya go. The new name of my path. I thought I'd better write it down because I'm sure in time, I won't be the only one who thinks the same way I do. So welcome to my path. I hope it's exactly what you're looking for!
