As the new generation of TVB actors
and actresses approaches, many people has begun to
make predictions about who- and-who would rise up to
the top and who-and-who would be kicked out from
bitter competitions. Among them, there is a
24-year-old Tavia Yeung who has caught everyone's
attention from her great acting skills and a big
variety on picking roles.
Unlike many
of her colleagues, Tavia is NOT a Miss
Hong Kong (Her sister Griselda Yeung, however, was a
Miss Hong Kong in 2001). She was a graduate from
the 13th TVB Acting Academy. She started her
career from a very humble beginning in September 1998
with various small roles. Her efforts was
finally paid off in The Awakening Story in
2002. Playing the youngest daughter of Liza Wang
and the younger sister of Maggie Cheung, Tavia's
excellent performance and her amazing chemistry with
the rest of the cast made her one of the most shining
new stars of the year. In the next two years, she
would keep herself occupied and stay focus. More
and more important roles were offered, and in return
she put more efforts on her work. In 2003, she finally
got the chance to play the leading roles in The
Vigilante In The Mask and Twin of Brothers. Her capability was widely recognized.
And her career was on the rise.
But
Tavia is not just another pretty face. On
November 19, 2003, she was rewarded the "Most
Improved Female Artist" for her performance in Vigilante Force at the 36th TVB Anniversary
Ceremony. No one could ever deny the great
talent and excellent job she has shown in previous years.
Now as 2004 begins, we are looking forward for more
good work from the young artist. Let us keep our eyes
open, shall we?
