April 1779

Colonel Tavington was on his cot looking over papers for a new Dragoon Recruit when he was startled by Capt. Shane Bordon.

"Sir.?" Bordon asked as he walked in.

Suddenly Tavington looked up and yelped of fright.

" God damn it Bordon, do you want to give me a heart attack?" Tavington exclaimed as he got up and put aside his papers then put his strong hands on his hips. Bordon could tell he was pissed at him.

"I'm sorry sir, you have a visitor awaiting you ." Bordon said.

"At this hour? Is it the new recruit?" Tavington asked.

" No, a Miss. Chloe McKeller. " Bordon answered.

Tavington's eyes became wider in surprise as that name came through his lips. It was the girl he hurt recently when she found out he went to a tavern, got drunk, and then saw a woman outside the Tavern and took her into the woods and they kissed and got much further than that. That next day Chloe found out from a local relative and she threw her engagement ring at William and announced that the engagement and wedding was off.

" Why is she here? " Tavington asked as he walked closer to Bordon.

" She told me that she came her to talk to you." Bordon answered.

Tavington sighed then nodded to signify Bordon to let her in. Bordon nodded then opened the tent flap to let Chloe in. When she came in William's dangerously blue eyes looked with hers. She looked about 25 with dirty blonde hair waist length. Her eyes were the deepest hazel with a hint of silver. Bordon then got the idea that he needed to leave so he then turned around and left. There was a brief silence between them as they thought about the words they were going to say.

" Hello Chloe . " William said.

" Hello William, it's been three months, no word. " Chloe said.

" Why are you here? I mean this is not a place where you should be." William said as he walked to his desk then sat on his chair.

" I needed to talk to you urgently, I just wanted to ask why, why did you hurt me the way you did?" she asked.

" We had a fight and I walked out and got drunk, just to ease my mind, I didn't know it was going to farther than that. " He answered.

" You started the fight, you accused me of sleeping with Capt. Mauldin, now you and him don't even look at each other rather than talk, I told you over and over again no I didn't, I would never hurt you like that, how could you turn into a player William? " She spat.

William was getting pretty pissed by the way she was talking to him. He would never let a young woman talk to him like that.

" Well I told you the fucking day you confronted me about it that I was sorry. I woke up with a bloody hangover. " He yelled.

" I hate you all you are is a spiteful liar! " She cried.

He rose up and rushed to her. She was suspecting a powerful blow from him. But he just glared at her. She burst into tears and sat on the bed and covered her face with her hands. He looked at her with hurt in his eyes. He slowly walked to the cot and sat by her and watched her soul melt away with her tears.

" I can't believe I'm wasting good tears for you You never cared about me! You hated me, was that girl better than me? Huh William? Did she fullfill your needs and desires?!" she cried.

" No honey, I loved you, I'm very sorry for what I did, I should of came back and apologized. " he said with a tear coming down his cheek which he wiped away quickly.

" I gave you my virginity on our 2 month aniversity for when we were together, you were so gentle William, with you that big I thought you would hurt me but I doubted you would ever do that." she said.

" I still love you Chloe and I always will, I couldn't contact you but I tried darling! " he cried then she hugged him tightly.

He put his arms around her as she let it out.

" It's all right baby, let it all out, the hurt, anger, and pain, I will always love you." he said softly.

She then realized what the real reason why she came and sat up.

" Darling, what's wrong? " he asked suddenly.

" William I came here to tell you something very important. " she answered.

" What? What is it? " he asked as he got up and walked to her and put his hands on her shoulders.

" Are we ever going to be back to being engaged or did you find anyone else to be with? " she asked.

" No, I want you back in my life, in fact I still have your ring, if you want it back? " he answered.

She nodded then smiled. She wanted him back even though of the one act he did.

He smiled then ran to his desk and opened the drawer and pulled out the same ruby and diamond ring he put on her a year ago.

He then took her left hand and bent down on his knee.

" Chloe Amanda McKeller, would you again have the honor of becoming my wife, I will never EVER hurt you in anyway. " he said as he looked into her twinkling hazel eyes.

She smiled and nodded. " YES!!!! I will! " she said then he stood up and hugged her tightly.

"William, I came here to tell you that I'm 4 months pregnant with your child. " she said.

His smile narrowed and his look became serious.

" What, you're going to have a baby ? " he asked with bewilderment.

" Yes, your child, remember that night 4 months ago where you came home and was in a very bad mood and you were telling me that you felt much better that you were here with me? " she asked.

He then sat on the cot and put his head in his hands.

" That was the night I had my real kiss with you, I told you my feelings and thoughts, we got rough that night and I withdrew but I was too late, but this very shocking, I don't think I'm ready Chloe, I mean I'm a commander, what are they going to think? " he asked.

" What do you mean? We're engaged! You knew from day one that this was going to happen. You pressured me to lose my virginity to you. I told you I wanted to wait till our wedding night. " she answered.

" I know, I'm sorry . " he said.

" What do you mean your sorry? You are going to take care of this child with me regardless of what " they " think. I thought you loved me? You helped me make this child! " she cried.

" I am, I'm going to love this child darling! " he said then hugged her.

She buried her face in his neck as she smelled his sexy smell of pheromone, smoke, and his sexy colonge.

" I love you Chloe, I want to get married by this weekend, I want you in my bed and show you how much I have missed you. " he said softly.

" I love you too, now and for always. " Chloe said.
