It is a must for the traveller to visit Troodos mountains and its resorts and the peaceful Cypriot countryside and the enchanting wine producing villages with the local home made wineries and the grape – based delicacies such as “soutziouko” and “palouze”. Lania and Omodos are two of the many wine villages. Lania is famous for its traditional architecture, its old wine press and the numerous artists who have turned it into a hive of artistic activity, the charming Omodos village, with its unique pebbled central square, next to the old monastery of Holy Cross with its outstanding icons and woodcarvings. |
