| Home Page | Since I am in the middle of this project, things may change often. * = new Right now, the idea of this campaign is simple, but will grow as I have more time to create it all. Culture of DragonsDragons live in small clan like villages. They will have one cave that holds all the dragons in the clan. This cave will have one entrance that leads into a large meeting chamber. From there many side tunnels lead off into the dragons lair. Each dragon will build his/her own lair to their own design and is off limits to everyone, even his own clan, unless invited. The males will hunt and protect the clan lands while the females raise the young. In this time in "D&D history" most of the common races are not as wide spread as is in the core books. The more dominate races are lizard men, elves, dwarfs, humans, ogres, dinosaurs and more reptilian races. Here dragons are the majority, not by much, but still the majority. Every dragon can change into a humanoid form. Some dragons can change into dwarfs, elves, humans, ogres, or lizard men (or others). This will depend on each type of dragon. The dragon can only transform once a day per 4 HD. When in dragon form the dragon can use his/her dragon abilities, but when in humanoid form they can use their class(es). Every dragon gains 1 class for it's humanoid form for every 2 HD it has.Rolling for ability scores3d8 rearrange, 4d6 rearrange, 5d6 drop lowest + rearrange, 3d10 rearrange, or straight 2d20.Aging of your dragonEvery time a chromatic or metalic dragon ages enough to go up a category, it gains all the benefits from the monster manual. When a gem dragon ages enough to go up a category, it gains the benefits as described on their chart.RaceI have just finished the stats for the gem dragons, the rest is outlined in the monster manual.ClassIf the alignment of the dragon is compatible with the class, you can have it in humanoid form.SkillsAs a dragon you gain 6 skill pts every HD and bonus skill pts for your Int mod. So a wyrmling with an Int mod of +1 would have ( 6 +1 )x 4 = 28 skill pts. When the dragon changes into humanoid form, it has the number of skill pts that you would normally get from your class and Int mod.FeatsIn dragon form, you get 1 feat plus 1 feat for every 4 HD. Dragons also can select from a special list from below. In humanoid form, you get your normal feats that your race and class allow.Fly-by Attack: When flying, the creature can take a move action (including a dive) and another partial action at any point during the move. The creature cannot take a second move action during a round when it makes a flyby attack. Without this feat, the creature takes a partial action either before or after its move. Hover: When flying, a dragon can halt its forward motion and hover in place, fly straight down, of fly straight up regardless of its maneuverability. While hovering, it can attack with its bite and all four feet (its hind feet deal claw damage) and can make tail slap attacks if normally allowed to do so, If it can make a tail sweep, it can do so while hovering but can make no other attacks. A hovering dragon cannot make wing attacks. It can use its breath weapon instead of making physical attacks. Quicken spell-like ability: The dragon can use one of its spell-like abilities each round as a free action. Snatch: A dragon that hits with a claw or bite attack attempts to start a grapple as though it had the improved grab special attack. If the dragon gets a hold with a claw on a creature four or more sizes smaller, it squeezes each round for automatic claw damage. If it gets a hold with its bite on a creature three or more sizes smaller, it automatically deals bite damage each round, or if it does not move and takes no other action in combat, it deals double bite damage to the snatched creature. A snatched creature gets no saving throw against the dragon's breath weapon. The dragon can drop a creature is has snatched as a free action or use a standard action to fling it aside. A flung creature travels 10 feet, and takes 1d6 points of damage, per age category of the dragon. If the dragon flings it while flying, the creature suffers this amount or falling damage, whichever is greater. Wingover: A flying dragon can change direction quickly once each round. This feat allows it to turn up to 180 degrees regardless of its maneuverability, in addition to any other turns it is normally allowed. A dragon cannot gain altitude during the round it executes a wingover, but it can dive. | |
